One Vit/White (Bergamott & Citrus) - Review. 7 May 2020.

Swedish Match has re-launched the One brand, and today I'll be reviewing one of the five products in the series: One Vit/White (Bergamott and Citrus) - a product "Inspired by General". If you're not familiar with the One line, I'll do a quick history. It originally launched in August of 2017 and was a collaboration between UFC's Alexander "The Mauler" Gustafsson.  It was a "modern premium" line, meaning name brand products with a cheaper price tag!  It launched with three qualities: more strength and taste due to new way of refining tobacco, a softer portion material, and more plump portions due to a new way of treating the tobacco.

This one is a relaunch of the old General One White Portion.  When it comes to this snus, the flavor description says it has "light and spicy tobacco character with clear hints of bergamot and citrus, as well as some tea."  Each can weighs 22 grams and has 22 portions, for 1g portions.  The nicotine content is 14mg/g (1.4%) or 14mg/portion.  For comparative purposes, the old General One White Portion was 14mg/g total nicotine and 11.2mg/portion.  So this one is slightly stronger.

The New One Line

This new line has re-launched three products, and added two new ones.  One Vit/Silver (Bergamott and Citrus), which has a "light and spicy tobacco character with clear hints of bergamot and citrus, as well as some tea."  This one is a relaunch of General One White Portion.  One Svart/Black (Bergamott and Läder/Leather), which has a "dark and spicy tobacco character with hints of bergamot and citrus, as well as some tea and leather".  This one is a relaunch of General One Original Portion.   One Blå/Blue (Enbär an d Trä/Juniper and Wood), which has a "light and spicy tobacco character with clear elements of lavender and juniper, as well as slightly wood and citrus."  This one is a relaunch of Göteborgs Rapé ONE White Portion.  And they've launched two new flavors as well.  One Grön/Green (Skogsbär and Torkad Fruit / Forest Berries and Dried Fruit), which has a "light and spicy tobacco character with hints of dark berries, forest, citrus, and slightly provencal herbs."  Also, One Gul/Yellow (Apelsinblom and Örter / Orange Flowers and Herbs), which has a "light and spicy tobacco character with clear elements of yuzu, as well as slightly herbs and orange blossom."

What's Different?

So, you may be asking yourself, what's different about the new One line in addition to the name change?  It seems to be the portion material.  Swedish Match says it's "A closer snus experience".  They say:  "The portion has been adjusted to give a more powerful flavor through a thinner portion material."  And looking at this closeup, you can see that is the case.  The portion material is super thin, and it gets you closer to the tobacco than ever before.

As far as this one goes, it's basically the same as the old General One White Portion, but with a new can design, the new thinner portion material, and a higher nicotine strength.  The aroma is a present smell of citrus along with tones of pepper.  The portions are quite soft, and have a much thinner portion material; you can easily see right into them!  They're also quite plump and fill out the lip really, really well.  The flavor is a predominant taste of bergamot with tones of pepper in the background.  The longer you have it in the more you'll notice the light, earthy tobacco character in the background.  The nicotine strength feels to be around the strong level, and the flavor lasts up to about an hour on average!

If you liked the old General One White Portion, you'll love this one.  It's much improved!
