Mocca Natural Spearmint (Slim Strong) - Review (Discontinued). 11 May 2017.

The Mocca brand is a really interesting one. It's one that doesn't get spoken about a lot, but seems to stick around. I'm not sure who uses these products, but some people seem to dig them. This is a new one from Fiedler & Lundgren and is their second non-mini Mocca product, following Mocca Slim Mynte, which I reviewed back in January. When it comes to this product, the flavor description says, "Mocca Natural Spearmint Strong Slim White is made from locally grown tobacco. This snus has a natural taste of spearmint, mixed with a mild tobacco character." This product comes in a 16.8 gram can with 24 portions, or 0.7 grams per portion. The nicotine content is 12.5mg/g (1.25%), but with lighter portions it breaks down to 8.75mg/portion.

This product also comes with the FlexLid (Granit Sensations Mint pictured left), which is a new innovation made by Fiedler and Lundgren to the catch lid.  The catch lid bottom is a rubbery material which allows it to stretch and grow as you put more portions into it.  As someone who uses the catch lid a lot, it's a really neat concept.  I've been able to fit a lot of portions in there, which saves me from having to empty it out every few hours.  I'm glad to see Fiedler and Lundgren using this in more of their products now.

When you open the can, the aroma that comes through is a mild blending of spearmint and menthol. The thing I like about the aroma is that it isn't too sweet. The portions are a little dryer than your average white portion, but still feel pretty comfortable in the lip.  Also, since this is a mint snus, you get a nice cooling sensation in the lip.  The flavor is a pleasant, mellow blending of spearmint and menthol.  I don't really notice any tobacco in the taste.  However, the main thing I like about the flavor is the fact that it isn't too sweet.  There is some sweetness in this snus because it is a mint snus, but it is not too sweet which is quite impressive.  The flavor lasts a good amount of time; I can enjoy these for up to an hour.  The nicotine content isn't too strong at all.  Though it is said to be a strong, it feels to be about regular strength in terms of nicotine level.  That may be due to the 8.75mg/portion strength when broken down by portion.

Mocca Natural Spearmint is a pretty good tasting snus.  If you like mint and want something that isn't too sweet, this one is worth a try.
