Zafari Sauna Tar (Nicotine Pouches) - Review. 20 February 2022.

Zafari, if you're not familiar, is a line of nicotine pouches produced in Sweden.  I've reviewed five Zafari products so far, and I recently noticed on Snus24.com that there was a new one.  The name was intriguing, indicating a product with a tarry flavor.  The flavor description, however, made me a little nervous:  "A tarry taste with a minty undertone".  Yes, tar is tasty, but adding in mint?  I don't know about that.  So we'll just have to see how this one goes.  It could be good, sometimes some strange flavors end up mixing quite well.  Each can weighs in at 12 grams, and has 20 portions, for 0.6 grams each.  The bottom of the can says the nicotine content is 5mg/portion, so doing some backward math that would be around 8.33mg/g total.

Okay, let's check this stuff out.  I've been quite curious to see what's going on with this one.  Opening up the can, yes, there is a tarry character!  It's slightly leathery, as well.  I do notice a minty presence but it's not major, it's actually rather light.  In the lip, I find the pouches to be lighter in weight, soft, and semi-moist.  There's also a subtle cooling presence you'll notice when you insert a portion.  In the flavor, it's pretty interesting.  There is a tarry taste up front, along with some leathery hints.  The minty presence is there, but it's not a minty taste.  It's more like a cooling presence in the mouth.  The nicotine level feels a little lighter than the regular strength mark.  The flavor lasts about 40 to 50 minutes.

Rating and Final Thoughts

I rated this one at a 3.13/5.  It's a very intriguing, interesting, unique flavor, to say the least.  If I were a nicotine pouch user, I can't say it's something I'd use all the time.  But it is something you could grab when you have a craving for something unique and random.  I like that companies are branching out and trying to do more offbeat, random flavors.  This is certainly one of the most unique tastes I've found in the nicotine pouch world yet.  Not for me, but I'm sure there's folks out there who would dig it.
