Zyn Ultra Peppermint Frost (Nicotine Pouches) - Review. 20 June 2026.

The day is upon us, and Zyn Ultra is here!  I've been waiting since they first filed a PMTA for this back in 2021 to try this out, and see how this one would be.  I couldn't find it locally, and bought it over on Nicokick.com.  Now, we're checking out their Peppermint Frost flavor!  I have this one today in the 9mg/pouch strength.  They also make an 11mg, but I'm more partial to the 9mg version myself.  Regular strength is just more comfortable to me.  The flavor description for this one says "A frosty hit of crisp, minty freshness".  I'm not a big mint user myself, but I know mint is super popular, so let's dive into this one and check it out.  First, what is it that makes these pouches "ultra"?

Zyn Ultra Size Comparison

The new Zyn Ultra comes in a different pouch format.  They're slim, soft, moist, and plump.  These are bigger than the Zyn Dry version.  Zyn Ultra weighs 0.8g.  The old Zyn Mini Dry weighs 0.4g.  So these are about twice as big in weight.  These are also moist, and have a much softer pouch.  A side piece of information, these are bigger than Velo Plus, too.  Those weigh just 0.53g each.  These are now some of the biggest pouches on the market in the USA!  And, they're bigger than Swedish Zyn, which now sits at 0.6g.  I didn't really use the old dry Zyn much.  The pouches were a bit too dry for me, and didn't have as much flavor to them.  These are much, much better.  Also, the pouch amount has increased, instead of 15 you now get 20 pouches per can.  Now, let's open a can and review!

Opening the can, the aroma that comes through is a big, present, sharp, icy aroma of peppermint.  It's lightly sweet, and has a lot of presence to it.  The pouches are incredible.  They're soft, slim, moist, and plump.  They feel really nice under the lip.  They also give a cooling sensation against the lip, as well.  In the flavor profile, it's a bold taste of peppermint.  It's refreshing, but powerful.  It's sweet, but not overly sweet.  And it has a certain icy character to it.  In the strength, this one delivers much more comfortable than the dry format.  Zyn Dry has a fast nicotine dump to it.  This one is more steady, stable, and comfortable to me.  The flavor lasts about 40 to 45 minutes, on average.

Rating and Final Thoughts

In the rating, I gave this one a 3.67/5.  It's not a favorite or anything, but I don't use too much mint stuff.  I do think the spearmint one is better.  But, if you like peppermint, and want a high quality pouch with a very comfortable nicotine release, this is one you're going to want to check out.
