Today, I've got something new on deck to check out: Mynt pouches! This is a brand of nicotine pouches made by SSPPL, which is a company based in India. India has been killing it in the pouch game. From Alp, to Clew, to Fre, and many more brands, lots of pouch products come from India. I know some folks seem to not want to use products from other countries, but for me, it doesn't bother me. I've reviewed products from Iceland, Sweden, Norway, China, India, Indonesia, US, Canada, and more. And I generally judge a product on it's merits, and examine the product quality. So, in this review, that's what we are going to do today!
Each can weighs 10 grams, and has 20 pouches, weighing 0.5g each. The pouches are soft, and semi-moist. They have a nice feel against the gum! They have a nice feel under the gum, as well. In the strength, all of these come in at the 6mg strength. That's 6mg/pouch, of course. This is a little lighter than I prefer, but it's not super weak or anything. Now, let's check them out and see how they taste!
Flavor Description: "A sweet, herbaceous flavor of mint".
My Review: Opening the can, the aroma is quite pleasant. The spearmint character is smooth, sweet, and slightly herbal. In the flavor profile, it's a refreshing taste of spearmint. It's lightly sweet, and does have a nice herbal character in the background.
Mynt Winter Green
Flavor Description: "A soothing, cool, refreshing flavor".
My Review: Opening the can, I pick up a present aroma of wintergreen. It's always interesting to me that pouches I've had from India (such as this one, and Kozmo Wintergreen), seem to get the wintergreen taste better than American pouches. In the taste, the wintergreen flavor is front and center. It's not super minty, and has a nice bite to it!
Mynt Mango
Flavor Description: "A tropical mango taste that is luscious and vibrant".
My Review: This one smells really nice. It has a present, tropical, lightly sweet aroma of mango. The flavor is quite good. Honestly, this is the best one of the bunch. This one has a pleasant, enjoyable flavor of mango. The tropical nature is quite good! I really enjoyed it.
Mynt Mint
(For real, that's the name. It sounds funny to say it out loud....mintmint)
Flavor Description: "A pure mint flavor that is cool and refreshing"
My Review: This one has a sharp, icy aroma of peppermint to it. In the flavor, it's definitely more bold than the spearmint one. The peppermint flavor is present, icy, and refreshing. It's lightly sweet, but not overly sweet. Pretty decent!
Mynt Lychee
Flavor Description: "A delicate flavor that is sweet and subtle".
My Review: This one has a pretty interesting aroma to it. It's sweet, but slightly tart. It has a light fruity essence to it, but perhaps a faint citrusy vibe. In the flavor profile, it's an interesting combination of flavors. It does have a tart essence to it, but a subtle fruity sweetness, too. It has a slight herbal character to it, as well.
Mynt Sweet
Flavor Description: "A sweet, gentle, satisfying taste".
My Review: This one seems to be their unflavored option. Opening the can, I don't pick much aroma beyond the pouch material, however their does appear to be a subtle sweetness to it. In the flavor profile, I don't pick up. much flavor in this one, either. As suspected, this must be unflavored. It does have a subtle sweetness to it, but beyond that really I just pick up pouch material. But, all in all, not bad.
Rating and Final Thoughts
All in all, these weren't too bad. I found them to be pretty average. I didn't do a rating on the "Sweet" one, because it's unflavored. It's hard to rate and average those. The Mango one was my favorite, at 3.25/5. After that, Lychee at 2.92/5. Lastly, Mint and Spearmint at 2.75/5. But all in all, not bad. Decent quality, comfortable pouches, and decent flavors!
