General ONE Original Portion - Snus Review. 12 March 2026.

General ONE has been re-branded and re-launched again.  If this is a new product to you, let me do a quick recap!  It originally launched in 2017 as part of the new One line.  In 2020, it relaunched as One Svart.  At the end of 2025, it's was re-launched again, and back to it's original name:  General One.  The flavor description for this one says "Dark and spicy tobacco character with hints of bergamot and citrus, and a hint of tea".  Each can weighs 18g and has 20 portions, for 0.9g each.  The Swedish Match site doesn't have a nicotine content listed, nor does the can.  I see it listed on various e-stores as being 13-14mg/g, so it would be somewhere between 11.7-12.6mg/portion.  Now, let's throw in a portion and check the taste!

Honestly, this one hasn't changed since the last time I had it, other than the new can design.  The can design looks a lot better, by the way.  In the aroma, I pick up a rich, dark aroma of tobacco.  Alongside it, tart notes of bergamot come through, adding a citrusy smell.  Then, a note of pepper to add some spice.  The portions retain the "One" format, which I always call the "Spider-Web" format.  It's a thin pouch, which helps the flavor get out faster.  The flavor is quite solid.  It packs that General flavor that I know and love.  The rich tobacco, the tart bergamot, the spicy pepper notes.  It's all there, and comes through in a bold way.  In the nicotine strength, this one feels right at the strong level, with a solid punch.  The flavor lasts around 45-50 minutes, on average.

Rating and Final Thoughts

I would say this has the same rating as last time I had it, but I wasn't doing a rating system yet, so this is my first time giving this one a rating.  I put it at 3.75/5.  It's a great snus!  It has the classic General taste, and in a great portion format.  If you like General Original, this is one you'll definitely want to check out!
