Athletic Nicotine (Nicotine Pouches) - Review. 1 February 2026.

Today, we're going to taste a little victory and try out a new brand of US market nicotine pouches.  This is Athletic Nicotine.  These seem to be marketed to, of course, athletic minded people.  I bopped around on their site a bit and they say things like "Next-level nicotine for the winner in all of us", and "power-packed performance pouches".  We have three of their flavors to check out today - citrus, cinnamon, and wintergreen.  This product range comes in the mini dry format.  The slim moist pouch format has become more widespread in the US, but these are a lot like the dry pouches you can find here with Zyn, and the mini ON! pouches, for example.  I weighed these out, and each can weighs 6g and has 15 pouches, weighing 0.4g each (similar to Zyn).  These come in 1.5mg, 3mg, and 6mg at the strongest.  I of course got these in the 6mg because I usually use regular strength stuff, or 8-10mg.  Now, let's check these out!

Athletic Nicotine FLV.01

Flavor Description:  "Bright Crisp Citrus"

Athletic Nicotine FLV.01

My Review:  Opening the can, I pick up a mild, lightly sweet aroma of lemon.  I will say, compared to Zyn Citrus this has much more presence to it.  The pouches are the mini dry type and I'd say probably close to the mini ON! than the Zyn pouches.  Under the lip, kinda stiff at first, but they do soften up a tad as they get more moist.  In the flavor profile, I get a pretty decent citrus taste.  There's a tart, lightly sweet taste of lemon.  I notice this to be more present than Zyn or ON!, for example.  In the strength, the 6mg level is pretty light, but I use stronger stuff.  I imagine if you like this strength level you'll be okay with it.  The flavor lasts about 30ish minutes or so, on average.

Athletic Nicotine FLV.02

Flavor Description:  "Spicy Cinnamon Kick"

Athletic Nicotine FLV.02

My Review:  This one has a big, present aroma of cinnamon to it.  As with the last one, to compare to Zyn Cinnamon, this one is about 10x more bold in terms of aroma and flavor.  The cinnamon taste is quite nice.  It's spicy, it's sweet, it's present, it's very enjoyable.  My notes on the nicotine strength and flavor longevity are the same as the previous one, I don't note any difference.

Athletic Nicotine FLV.03

Flavor Description:  "Cool Refreshing Wintergreen"

Athletic Nicotine FLV.03

My Review:  Opening the can of this one, I found it to be pretty interesting.  It's not so much a straight up wintergreen.  It's kind of minty, perhaps a little herbal.  It's like the standard American "mintergreen" flavor, but perhaps less wintergreen.  In the flavor, it's kind of a hybrid mint/wintergreen flavor.  It's a little sweet, and has this simple, mint character.  The wintergreen errs on the herbal side, and isn't too bold.  It's an interesting take on the mint flavor, and also an interesting take on the wintergreen flavor.  My notes on the nicotine strength and flavor longevity are the same as the previous two.

Rating and Final Thoughts

So, my ratings break down like this.  FLV01 (Citrus) sits at 2.92/5.  FLV02 (Cinnamon) sits at 2.83/5.  Lastly, FLV03 (mint/wintergreen) sits at 2.75/5.  Those scores are a little low for me, but these products aren't for me.  I mostly use slim pouches, and I'm not the biggest fan of the mini dry pouch.  That's my personal thoughts on this.

Now, my objective reviewer thoughts on this!  These are very similar to Zyn and ON! in terms of pouch size, mouthfeel, strength, and flavor longevity.  The main difference I've noticed is that they have way more aroma and flavor to them.  So, if you like ON! and Zyn, especially for the pouch format, I suspect you will really enjoy these, because they have way more flavor (which is one of my major complaints about Zyn).
