The Christmas Season is upon us! Today is Festivus, tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and the next day is Christmas! In the past, one of my favorite things was writing about Julesnus every year. Unfortunately, Gotlandssnus is no more, V2 is no more, and now Swedish Match rarely makes Julesnus, and if they do, they don't let many people try it; they keep it locked up in Sweden and keep e-stores from selling it to the US. So, what does that leave us? Nicotine Pouches. This year, we did have some fun with Nicokick's 2025 Advent Calendar. I did daily opening videos with those, which was fun. This year, we also have four Holiday-inspired flavors to check out, so on to the 2025 Snubie Christmas Special! I was able to get these thanks to the folks at Snusio.com!
Après Ski Edition
Après Ski Edition
Flavor Description: "The essence of Scandinavian winter, with a blend of lingonberry, cherry, and mixed berries".
Can Contents: 11 grams, 20 pouches, 0.55g each
Nicotine Strength: 8mg/g (4.4mg per pouch)
My Review: This one smells quite nice. It honestly reminds me a lot of the Ace Xmas edition from last year with the Juleskum flavor. There's a rich cherry aroma, along with a subtle hint of lingonberry. The pouches are slim, and slightly brown (due to the flavorings used). They're pretty light in weight, but moist. The flavor is a really nice experience. The rich cherry notes are there, but not overly sweet. There's also a subtle lingonberry. Also, perhaps a little vanilla, as I pick up a smooth, creamy essence as well. The nicotine strength is incredibly light, at 4.4mg/pouch. I don't feel much so I have to use two at a time. The flavor lasts about 30-40 minutes.
Après Julmust
Helwit Limited: Glögg
Loop Spicy Apple (Holiday Edition)
Loop Spicy Apple (Holiday Edition)
Flavor Description: "Inspired by the beloved Scandinavian Christmas drink Julmust!"
Can Contents: 11 grams, 20 pouches, 0.55g each
Nicotine Strength: 8mg/g (4.4mg per pouch)
Après Julmust
My Review: This is a 2025 return! I reviewed this one last year. If you've never had Julmust, it's a malted, spiced Swedish soda that comes out during the Advent season. It's quite tasty. In the aroma, it's definitely malty. The cola comes through clearly, but isn't overly sweet. It also has a little spice. The pouches are a lot like the last one. The flavor is nice. A nice, spicy, malted cola taste. It definitely captures that Julmust flavor! Like the last one, the strength is quite weak, so I have to use two. The flavor is about 30-40 minutes in lifespan.
Flavor Description: "A taste of mulled wine, red berries, and spices".
Can Contents: 10 grams, 20 pouches, 0.5g each
Nicotine Strength: 9mg/g (4.5mg/pouch)
Helwit Limited: Glögg
My Review: I was excited to try this one. The usual flavor of past Julesnus products was Glögg, so I was intrigued to see how this translated to a pouch. If you're not familiar with Glögg, it's a flavorful type of mulled wine. I don't drink anymore, but I made some back in my 2011 Christmas Special. The aroma of this one is interesting. It's kind of spicy, kind of bitter. The pouches are flat, and relatively dry. I couldn't get into the flavor. There was something kind of off-putting about this one. It had a kind of bitter, rank taste to it. There was some spice, as well. But the flavor wasn't for me. The strength was also quite light, so I had to use two. In terms of flavor longevity, it lasts about 40ish minutes.
Flavor Description: "A spicy taste of apple!"
Can Contents: 12.5g, 20 pouches, 0.625g each
Nicotine Strength: 24.96mg/g (15.6mg/pouch)
My Review: I like Loop, so I was intrigued to try this one. I wish it wasn't Hyper Strong, but we'll see how it actually feels. In the aroma, you can definitely pick up some chili pepper. I notice some green apple behind it, but the pepper seems more present. The pouches are slim, moderately moist, and quite soft. Under the lip, I get a little burn from the pepper. The flavor is good though. It has a spicy taste of apple. I like that I can taste a fair amount of the pepper. In the strength, it hits pretty quick. It definitely feels to be up the extra strong level. The flavor also lasts about 40ish minutes on this one.
Rating and Final Thoughts
Julmust retains top ranking from last year at 3.5/5. However, their Ski Edition was also quite tasty, at 3.25/5. Next, Loop's Spicy Apple sits at 3.17/5. Lastly, Helwit's holiday release gets a 2.59/5. Of all three of these, Julmust and the Ski Edition were my favorite. Loop Spicy Apple was good, I just wish it wasn't so strong. The Helwit one is one I'd take a pass on. The flavor on it was weird, and wasn't too appealing to me. I usually love the flavor of Glögg, it's great in snus. But their take on it just didn't come across very well this year.
So there you have it my friends! It's been a great year, and I'm looking forward to an exciting 2026. Happy Festivus, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and on to the new year!
