Zone Nicotine Pouches (US Market) - Review. 12 June 2025.

I've seen these nicotine pouches around lately, so I purchased some of them at my local Tobacco Superstore.  Today we have Zone Nicotine Pouches, an Imperial Tobacco product.  This line also contains Peppermint, Citrus, and Tobacco flavors, but I haven't found these locally yet.  What's interesting about these is that these are made by TJP Labs.  If that name sounds familiar, it's because they used to make L!X (or LiX) Nicotine Pouches (I had them back in 2021).   Imperial bought them (and their PMTA) in 2023, and rebranded their products as Zone.  I had the Zone X brand (a Swedish brand) before, and it looks as though they are taking the Zone name worldwide.

When I had L!X last time, I remember they remarked that these products had a "premium fleece" which delivered a "superior fabric and no powder leakage" as well as "99.98% pharmaceutical-grade S-type nicotine from CNT".  Not sure if that is still the case, but to my eye (when comparing to the photos in 2021 when I reviewed it) these products are the exact same as the L!X ones, just with the Zone name on them now.  Each can weighs 8g and has 20 pouches, for 0.4g each.  The pouches are soft, moist, and comfortable under the lip, albeit a little small in size.  The nicotine contents they have are 6mg/pouch and 9mg/pouch.  When I bought these, I just grabbed a few of each strength to test.  The 6mg pouch is a little light, but I found the 9mg pouch to have a pretty nice nicotine delivery to it.

Zone Wintergreen

Flavor Description:  "Crisp, refreshing wintergreen flavor".

Review:  Opening this one up, this one has a character that I have dubbed "mintergreen".  This is a common character in US nicotine pouches, I've noticed.  It has a little presence of wintergreen, but it's super minty.  Under the lip, the flavor is refreshing, and more of a mint taste than a wintergreen one.  There is wintergreen to it, but it's more minty than you would expect from a wintergreen pouch.  It is also a little on the sweeter side.

Zone Spearmint

Flavor Description:  "Smooth and slightly sweet mint flavor".

Review:  This one has a pretty present mint smell to it.  It's more sharp than other spearmint products I've had before.  It's pretty refreshing, and the spearmint seems to almost have a hint of peppermint to it.  In the flavor profile, it's a pretty sweet one.  The spearmint flavor is present.  As with the aroma, it does seem to have almost a light hint of peppermint to it.

Zone Mint

Flavor Description:  "Cool, freshening mint flavor".

Review:  It's interesting that most nicotine pouch brands nowadays have Spearmint, Peppermint and "Mint".  It seems like it would be easier to just have the two, because with a name like "Mint", you often don't know what you're going to get.  In the aroma, this one is an almost herbal, subtle peppermint.  It's not super sharp, and seems to have a slight menthol touch to it.  In the flavor profile, the peppermint flavor is gentle, with tones of menthol, and an almost herbal touch to it.  It's on the sweeter side, but not as sweet as the previous one.

Zone Dragonfruit

Flavor Description:  "Sweet and tropical, juicy flavor".

Review:  Last time I had L!X, I remember their Dragonfruit being pretty good.  It was one of the higher rated ones I did in the series.  Opening the can, the aroma is tart, and slightly tangy.  It has a red berry presence to it, but almost a tart hint of rhubarb.  The fruity taste is sweet, tart, and tangy.  I pick up a red berry presence to it that almost reminds me of raspberry.  Then a tart, tangy touch on the back end that makes me think of rhubarb for some reason.  It's an interesting flavor!

Rating and Final Thoughts

In the end, these were as I expected.  They were the same as the L!X versions I had back in 2021, but now called Zone.  In that light, they scored the same rating as L!X received in 2021.  Dragonfruit and Spearmint came out on top at 3.25/5.  Then, Mint and Wintergreen behind at 3.08/5.  They weren't bad.  The pouches were a little smaller than I prefer, but they were still pretty comfortable.  The flavors were decent, just a little sweeter than I prefer.  But, that's common for the American market.  If you see these out, I'd say give them a try, they weren't too bad!
