Stoker's Chewing Tobacco - Review. 28 May 2025.

And now....for something completely different!  From Stoker's in the USA, we have Stoker's Chewing Tobacco:  Red Supreme and Classic!  Why, Snubie, you may be asking.  Why are you reviewing this?  To date in 2025 I have done almost 60 nicotine pouch reviews.  And I have many more to do.  With the snus market drying up, and manufacturers moving to making more tobacco free alternatives, there aren't many tobacco products left to review.  It's also harder to get snus online in the US due to the FDA over-regulation.  Yes, I am a nicotine enthusiast.  But. more than that, I'm a tobacco enthusiast.  So, I figured I'd try out some different stuff to mix it up.  To preface this review, it is true that American dip and chewing tobacco are not as safe as Swedish Snus.  So I do want to preface this review by saying that.  I am primarily a snus guy, but I also enjoy other tobacco products here and there.  But it still remains true that Swedish Snus is the tobacco product that carries the last amount of risk.  In terms of TSNA levels, chewing tobacco isn't that much higher than snus.  Swedish Snus is around 2.0 to 2.2.  American Dip is between 4.5 and 12.3.  Chewing tobacco ranges from 1.8 to 4.7.  So, at its worst, chewing tobacco is twice the TSNA levels that snus has (Source:  Brad Rodu).

Price, Content, Strength
I saw these at my local Smoker Friendly.  I went in to buy a can of General Snus, which, for 24g, is now $12 here locally.  I found these pouches which contain 3oz (85g) of tobacco, and they only cost $3 each.  Not too bad at all!  In terms of nicotine strength, I couldn't find one for these.  Chewing tobacco varies, though.  I found Stoker's Apple Chew to have 3.8mg/g, with other chewing tobaccos ranging from 5.3mg/g to 8.6mg/g (Source:  Brad Rodu).  So I assume these are somewhere in that range.

How do you use chewing tobacco?
Well, if you've never had it, it's self explanatory.  You chew it!  Chewing it releases flavor and nicotine, and yes, you may want to spit.  I don't always do it, but it can upset your stomach if you aren't used to it.  Sometimes I'll upper lip it like with snus, which also works out pretty well.

Now, let's review these!

Stoker's Classic Chewing Tobacco

Flavor Description:  "Enjoy the premium taste that comes with Stoker’s famous quality and pricing. If you like Red Man regular, you’re sure to enjoy our Classic chew".

Stoker's Classic Chewing Tobacco

My Review:  Opening up the pouch, the aroma is a dark, earthy tobacco.  It has a hint of raisin to it.  There is also a slight wooden note that makes me think of oak.  It has a slight sweetness to it, with an almost molasses esque tone.  The tobacco is soft, with a medium moisture amount.  I find the tobacco packs well in the cheek, as well as in the upper lip, depending on how you use it.  And yes, chewing it releases more flavor, and nicotine, as with other chewing tobaccos.  Flavor-wise, this one has a nice tobacco-centric flavor profile.  The tobacco is raw, and earthy.  It has slight notes of wood, along with hints of raisin.  It is slightly sweet, and has that molasses presence, but isn't overly sweet, or as sweet as the Red Supreme.  The nicotine strength is light, but with a decent sized wad of tobacco you'll feel a pleasing release of nicotine.  The tobacco and flavor gives a pretty long lasting experience, anywhere from 30-40 minutes, sometimes longer.

Stoker's Red Supreme Chewing Tobacco

Flavor Description:  "Smooth, sweeter tasting chew, made using Stoker’s signature Multi-Pass process for that satisfying long lasting flavor that our chew consumers have come to love. If you like Red Man Golden Blend, Levi Garrett, or Starr, you’re sure to like Red Supreme".

Stoker's Red Supreme Chewing Tobacco

My Review:  The aroma of this one is similar to the last one, but it seems a little sweeter.  I pick up an earthy tobacco scent, along with a hint of raisin and molasses.  The tobacco aroma is rich, but relatively smooth.  The tobacco is soft, and moderately moist.  It feels very slightly more moist than Stoker's Classic.  Flavor-wise, this one definitely is on the sweeter side.  The tobacco taste is earthy, and smooth.  I pick up a little wood note, along with some raisin tones.  The molasses character is more notable with this one, and contributes more sweetness to the flavor profile.  The nicotine release and flavor longevity is about the same on this one as the last one.

Rating and Final Thoughts

These were fun to try out.  It's nice to enjoy some tobacco after so many months of nicotine pouches.  Of the two, I liked the Classic more.  It was sweeter than I'm used to with snus, but I found the Red Supreme to be sweeter than Classic.  Classic rated at 3.71/5 for me.  I put the Red Supreme at 3.54/5.  Both were good, though.  I'll definitely have to review more chewing tobacco, because it's fun to mix it up.  I've reviewed several of their dip products in the past, so glad to be expanding the range!
