I originally tried Alp Nicotine Pouches back in December, 2024, when they first launched. Alp is a line of nicotine pouches made by Turning Point Brands, in association with Tucker Carlson, formerly known as Tucker CarlZyn. Once a Zyn enthusiast, Tucker moved on to wanting "a better time" (as the Alp slogan goes) and created this brand. I won't go into the politics of the brand, or what inspired it's creation, as I don't do much political content here. But, if you want to explore that, there's more info out there about it. On the bottom of the can, it is noted that these are "Designed in the US, assembled in India". So yes, as many have noted, these are made in India. However, some great pouches come out of India so I don't really mind it. I've heard the Alp brand is working towards being made in the US at some point, so stay tuned for that. I reviewed the original line at launch, but Sweet Nectar has been harder to track down. I finally got ahold of a can, so I can do a review of this one!
Now, about this product. On the Alp website, it doesn't say much to tell you what this is going to taste like: "Experience the boldness of Sweet Nectar Nicotine Pouches by ALP". I found over on Northerner/Nicokick's site a better description: "A refreshing burst of southern fruit with a smooth honey caramel twist". As with other Alp products, each can is 10 grams, and contains 20 pouches, weighing 0.5g each. This one is the 9mg/pouch strength, but they also make others - such as 3mg and 6mg. Now, let's put one of these in and get into the review!
When I got these today, I opened the can, and I didn't get a big aroma from them. I pick up a slightly sweet tone, but no fruit or anything. These remind me of another product I've had in the past from India - Frē Sweet. The pouches are slim, moderately soft, with a light moisture amount. They have a nice feel under the lip, as well. In the flavor, I don't really taste any fruit, or honey/caramel. Honestly, it's a lot like the previously mentioned Frē Sweet. I taste a mild, sweet character. And that's about it. It's a very simple, base taste. Perhaps this is meant to be Alp's "unflavored" product, for places with a flavor ban? In the nicotine strength, this one feels about regular strength, and has a nice, comfortable delivery to it. The flavor lasts about 30-35 minutes, on average. It does fade out a bit quicker than other Alp products, but the nicotine delivery is long, sustained, and pleasing.
Rating and Final Thoughts
So, Alp Sweet Nectar. I'm glad I finally got to try it out. In the end, this one rated at 3.42/5. For those who missed my previous review on this brand, this rating is on the lower end. I didn't get as much flavor from this one as I hoped, and the flavor didn't last as long. It's not a bad product, by any means. Honestly, I think people who are looking for something with a mild flavor, or not a lot of flavor, and something they can enjoy just for the nicotine release, they may like this one. Much like Zyn Smooth, and products like that - some people like the less flavored pouches. This may be for them. For me, I'm more partial to stronger flavors, such as Alp's Tropical Fruit.
