I recently did an order from Snussie.com, and on that order I got a lot of different Vid Nicotine Pouch flavors. I didn't want to do a big review with all of them, so I separated them out a bit. Today, we're talking about the "spicy flavors" in the Vid family: Hot Pineapple, Spicy Orange, and Chili Chocolate. Vid launched in 2021, so it's been a while since I've had it. The parent company, Kurbitssnus, used to make a lot of great snus product, but I don't think they make those anymore. Each can weighs in at 12 grams and has 20 pouches, for 0.6 grams each. The nicotine content is 16mg/g, which breaks down to 9.6mg/pouch. Before we get into the reviews and talk about aroma and flavor, let's discuss what they have in common!
Commonalities:
Pouch - Each pouch is slim, and semi-moist, but slightly dry.
Nicotine Strength - The nicotine level on these feels to be about the strong level.
Flavor Longevity - All of these have a flavor longevity of about 30-40 minutes.
Now, let's do some reviews!
Flavor Description: "A taste of pineapple and chili"
Review: Opening up the can, I pick up a spicy aroma of chili, along with some light tropical notes of pineapple. In the flavor profile, the name is quite fitting. The pineapple and chili pepper mix together pretty well. It's spicy, it's tropical, and it's hot.
Vid Chili Chocolate
Flavor Description: "A taste of chocolate and chili"
Review: I was quite curious about this one because this isn't your average, every day combination. Opening the can, I pick up a lightly sweet aroma of milk chocolate. There are some undertones of chili, as well. In the flavor profile, it's sweet, and chocolatey. And the chili hints add a certain hotness to this one.
Vid Spicy Orange
Flavor Description: "A taste of orange and chili"
Review: Of the three, this is the one I was most curious about. There aren't a lot of spicy flavors out there. And there aren't a lot of orange flavors out there, either. So, this one held a lot of promise, and curiosity for me. When I open up the can, I pick up a present, tart aroma of orange. There's a light touch of chili that comes through with it, as well. In the flavor profile, the orange and chili balance out quite nicely. The orange is tart, and present. The chili is hot, and adds a little spice to this one.
Rating and Final Thoughts
These weren't too bad. I like unique flavors, and these were certainly unique. Spicy Orange was the best one, at 3.08/5. Next, Hot Pineapple came in at 3/5. Lastly, Chili Chocolate at 2.92/5. That one was a bit odd to me. I don't know why, it just didn't exactly work for me. But the other two I'd suggest if you like spicy flavors!
