I've reviewed Grinds Coffee Pouches many, many times. But today, I have something different - Grinds Energy Pouches! These also contain caffeine, but instead of containing coffee, they contain a cellulose filler. This is how their site describes them: "A big energy boost. Use anytime, anywhere. Made with premium, naturally-derived caffeine. Experience increased energy in just 30 seconds". Today we have three flavors to check out: Wild Cherry, Spicy Mango, and Wintergreen! Each can weighs 21.42 grams and has 15 pouches, weighing 0.7 grams each. The caffeine content is 80mg, which I believe is per pouch. Before we get into the reviews and discuss their differences (aroma and flavor), let's discuss what they have in common.
Commonalities
The Pouch - The pouches are regular sized, and the contents are semi-dry, with a soft feel in the lip and against the gum.
The Effect - It feels much like drinking a Mountain Dew, a nice delivery of caffeine.
The Flavor Longevity - All of these seem to hover between 30 and 40 minutes of flavor longevity.
Now, let's do some reviews!
Flavor Description: "Icy cool blast of classic wintergreen".
Review: These have a present, straight up aroma of American wintergreen. In the flavor, it is the unmistakable taste of wintergreen. This one lives up to the name quite well. A lot of wintergreens these days are too minty, but this one has a pretty normal wintergreen flavor to it.
Grinds Energy Pouches: Spicy Mango
Flavor Description: Couldn't find, so we'll just go with "Spicy Mango".
Review: In the aroma, this one has a big, juicy mango presence. It's lightly sweet, and tropical. In the flavor, the mango is no slouch. It's got a lot of taste to it. The mango taste isn't super spicy, but I can almost detect a light chili tone to it. The mango is tropical, lightly sweet, and tasty!
Grinds Energy Pouches: Wild Cherry
Flavor Description: Couldn't find, so we'll just go with "Wild Cherry".
Review: This one has a really nice cherry aroma to it. It reminds me of these old cherry gummy candies I used to eat when I was younger, I just can't remember the name of them. It's kind of like Cherry Dots, if you've had those. In the flavor, it's quite tasty. This one has a pretty present taste of cherry to it. It's lightly sweet, and very flavorful. I'm usually more of a mango guy if I have multiple products I'm reviewing, but this cherry was quite impressive.
Rating and Final Thoughts
These were pretty decent energy pouches! Grinds makes a good product, and the company is a solid one, too. I usually seem to like most of what they put out. These, I think, would be for those who maybe don't wanna do the coffee pouches because they're brown, but still want to get an energy boost. I think if you fall into that camp, you'll be happy with Grinds Energy Pouches!
