Earlier today, I wrote a review of Alpha Nootropic Pouches, made by the folks at Fully Loaded. Now, I have their other ones: Alpha Fuel Nootropic Energy Pouches. These are a little different because they have caffeine in them! These products are tobacco and nicotine free. They contain caffeine (50mg, I assume per pouch). These also contain 50mg of Alpha GPC (memory/alertness), 50mg of L-Tyrosine (mood/stress), 20mg of taurine and 20mg of guarana (energy), as well as 15mg of theobromine (heart health). Needless to say, these have a lot of stuff to them! Before we get into the reviews and disucss their differences, let's discuss what they have in common!
Alpha Fuel: Wintergreen
Commonalities:
Pouch - All of these pouches are the standard large size, but not too full. They have rather soft contents, and a soft pouch for which feels good under the lip.
Effect - I did note a nice effect from the energy, much like drinking a small Red Bull, or a Mountain Dew. The other stuff, I can't say I'm a super stressed person, so I can't speak to that much. But they did give a pretty good vibe!
Flavor Longevity - The flavor longevity for each of these is about 30-40 minutes, on average.
Now, let's talk about aroma and flavor!
Alpha Fuel: Wintergreen
Flavor Description: "A bright and refreshing flavor "
Review: Opening the can, a pleasant aroma of American wintergreen comes through. It's slightly minty, and lightly sweet. The flavor is very much the same. The wintergreen taste is front and center. It's semi-sweet, with a hint of mint. It almost seems to have a light wood/smoke touch to it.
Alpha Fuel: Mint
Alpha Fuel: Mango
Alpha Fuel: Coffee
Alpha Fuel: Coconut Banana
Alpha Fuel: Lime
Flavor Description: "Crisp and refreshing "
Review: This one has a present aroma of peppermint to it. It's smooth, and lightly sweet in nature. Under the lip, I pick up a pretty nice taste of mint. The peppermint flavor is smooth, and semi-sweet. It's pretty refreshing in nature.
Flavor Description: "A sweet and tropical flavor"
Review: I love tropical tastes, so I was excited to check this one out. Opening up the can, I dig the aroma of mango that comes out. It's tropical, lightly sweet, and natural. The flavor is also pretty good. The taste of mango is tropical, and semi-sweet. It's a well rounded experience.
Flavor Description: "A smooth and creamy coffee flavor with a hint of vanilla cream"
Review: Opening up a tin, I pick up a smell of vanilla. Behind it, tones of coffee come through clearly. In the flavor profile, it's rich, sweet, and balanced. The coffee and vanilla flavors pair very well together!
Flavor Description: "A sweet and tropical flavor "
Review: This is a wild one. It's not a flavor I've ever encountered before. In the aroma, I pick up coconut clearly, with hints of banana. It's tropical, and semi-sweet. Flavor-wise, the mix of coconut and banana is an intriguing one. It's a little on the sweet side, and has a nice tropical nature to it.
Flavor Description: "A sweet and refreshing flavor"
Review: Citrus is one of my favorite flavor profiles. Going into this one, I was hoping it would be as good as the other lime Alpha pouch I tried today. When I open up the can, I get a tart aroma of line. It has a light touch of sweetness to it, but it's not overdone or anything. In the flavor, the lime taste is front and center. I pick up a little tart nature to it, and just a faint touch of sweetness. It's not overly sweet or anything, which is nice!
Rating and Final Thoughts
It was fun to try these out. I liked these more than the other ones, because the caffeine gave a nice little energy kick. Mango came out on top, at 3.42/5, followed by Lime at 3.25/5. After that, Coconut Banana and Wintergreen tied up at 3.08/5. Next, Coffee and Mint at 2.92/5. While I enjoy nicotine, I can appreciate these products. They aren't for me, but I still think they're pretty neat if you're looking for an alternative product!
