VILD Nicotine Pouches - Review. 15 September 2024.

I was recently kicking around over on SnusMe.com, and noticed a new line of nicotine pouches called Vild.  I know, another day, another brand, right?  It seems like every day there are 20 new brands that pop up.  Honestly, I stopped chasing them all down a long time ago and really only review products I'm interested in, or ones that people ask me to review.  That's how many there are now, it's insane.  But, these Vild ones sounded interesting to me due to their concept.  Their website says they're made by Nordic Brands AB, and this is how they describe the line:  "VILD is a premium, all-white, tobacco-free nicotine pouch inspired by the rugged beauty of the Nordic outdoors. It gives you a fresh nicotine boost that you can carry with you wherever your adventures take you, without any of the downsides of tobacco. Choose between our refreshing flavors , and take a piece of the wilderness with you on your journey".  As someone who likes the outdoors quite a bit, this is pretty intriguing to me!

Before we get into the reviews and discuss their differences, I want to discuss what they have in common first, so as not to be redundant.

Commonalities
Can Contents - 14g, 20p, 0.7g each
Pouch Mouthfeel - Each pouch is slim, soft, and moderately moist with a nice flavor release.
Flavor Longevity - The flavor one each one tends to last between 35-45 minutes, on average.

Now, let's discuss their differences:  aroma, taste, and nicotine release!

Vild Jaeger

Flavor Description:  "Bitter-sweet flavoured nicotine pouch with notes of licorice root, dried herbs and star anise"
Nicotine Strength:  11.4mg/g, or 7.98mg/pouch

My Review:  Of this line, there are three mint products, and one non-mint product.  This one, Jaeger, is the non mint one.  The term translates to "hunter", but the name could be a nod to the popular Jägermeister beverage.  In the aroma, I pick up a present, but smooth aroma of black licorice with an herbal hint to it and a slight sweetness.  The flavor is pretty good.  It's a black licorice flavor, but relatively smooth in nature.  It's slightly sweet, and has a mild herbal taste in the background.  It's a really intriguing flavor, and quite complex.  The nicotine strength is pretty solid, delivering right at the regular strength level.

Now that we've discussed that one, let's break down all three of their mint flavors, next.

Vild Bris (Mint)

Flavor Description:  "A fresh taste of mint"
Nicotine Strength:  8mg/g, or 5.6mg/pouch

My Review:  This one has a pretty sweet, smooth aroma of peppermint.  It's not too sharp, and comes through in a mild way.  Under the lip, I encounter a gentle cooling presence from the mint.  The flavor is smooth, refreshing, and gentle.  It's lightly sweet, but not abundantly so.  The mint presence is pretty nice, and fresh.  In the strength, this is a lighter one, at 5.6mg/pouch, so it feels just a little below the regular strength level in terms of delivery.

Vild Kuling (Double Mint)

Flavor Description:  "A clear taste of mint"
Nicotine Strength:  11.4mg/g, or 7.98mg/pouch

My Review:  Going from the last one to this one, I can say the aroma is definitely more kicked up.  It's a pretty present spearmint, but has more of a pronounced quality to it.  It's lightly sweet, as well.   I get a little cooling in the lip with this one, much like the last one.  In the flavor profile, it's a lightly sweet, present taste of peppermint.  It is smooth, but more present than the last one.  I'd say this one is similar to Bris, but has more presence to it.  In the nicotine strength, this one is a little stronger than Bris, feeling right at the regular strength level.

Vild Storm (Triple Mint)

Flavor Description:  "A icy mint taste"
Nicotine Strength:  15.75mg/g, or 11.03mg/pouch

My Review:  This one is pretty similar to the last one,  but seems to be a bit more sharp in the peppermint department.  It's lightly sweet, and pretty refreshing.  The pouch yields a little cooling sensation under the lip, much like the other two.  In the flavor, it's a pretty icy, sharp taste of peppermint.  It has a light sweetness to it, and a pretty refreshing essence.  I'd say it's not as bold as the last one, but just a little more sharp.  In the nicotine department, this one is stronger than regular strength, and feels a little bit above the last one in terms of how it delivers.

Rating and Final Thoughts

These were pretty solid products!  Rating them from top to bottom, Jaeger sits at 3.33/5, Kuling at 3.25/5, Bris at 3.08/5, and Storm at 3/5.  Jaeger was my favorite of the bunch with a pretty nice taste.  Of the three mint products, I'd say Kuling was the best, with its regular strength nicotine level and well balanced mint flavor.  So, of the four, the two I'd suggest the most are Jaeger and Kuling.
