XO Nicotine Pouches - Review. 19 June 2024.

I was recently browsing around on SnusMe.com and saw a bunch of nicotine pouches I haven't reviewed yet.  Since there aren't a lot of new snus products coming out nowadays, I've been reviewing more nicotine pouches.  I still mostly use snus, but I review these, too.  These are XO Nicotine Pouches.  They're made by a company called BAS Nordic AB, in Sweden.  Their website isn't working as of the date of this article, so they must be pretty new.  Each of these products have a few things in common.  They all weigh 10 grams and have 20 pouches per can, meaning 0.5 grams each.  The nicotine content is 16mg/g for each one, which breaks down to 8mg/pouch.

Also, they have a few commonalities in the experience, which I'll share first:
Pouch - The pouches are slim, decently moist, pretty soft, but light in weight.  They do have a good mouthfeel, though.
Nicotine - In the nicotine department, these all feel to be right at the regular strength level.
Flavor Longevity - Flavor longevity is about 35-40 minutes, on average, for each of these.

Now, where they differ is going to be aroma and flavor, so let's discuss those differences first.

XO Spearmint

Flavor Description:  "a taste of spearmint"

Review:  In the aroma, this one has a sweet aroma of spearmint.  It also seems to have a little menthol to it.  Flavor-wise, I pick up mostly spearmint.  It is of a sweeter nature, and like the aroma there seems to be a subtle hint of menthol character in the background.

XO Watermelon Chili

Flavor Description:  "a taste of watermelon and chili"

Review:  This is the one that intrigued me the most because it seemed to be the most unique flavor in the  XO range.  In the aroma, it's a present, sweet aroma of watermelon with a hint of chili.  In the flavor, I pick up a nice taste of chili, followed by some heat in the lip, and a sweet flavor of watermelon mixed in.

XO Ice Cool

Flavor Description:  "an icy mint flavor"

Review:  This one is your standard, run of the mill mint.  In the aroma, you get menthol up front, then a little peppermint in the background.  Flavorwise, it's mostly menthol, but I do notice a little peppermint flavor behind it.

XO Grape Ice

Flavor Description:  "an icy taste of grape"

Review:  This one I thought was pretty neat.  It has a fresh aroma of grape, with a little mint mixed in.  In the flavor department, it's mostly grape, but there's a subtle hint of mint in the background which adds a little freshness.
XO Blueberry

Flavor Description:  "a taste of blueberries"

Review:  Blueberry is a pretty neat flavor because not a lot of pouches out there really have that flavor to them.  So, I was curious to check this one out and see what it was all about.  Let's open a can and dive into this last XO nicotine pouch product!  In the aroma, I pick up a fresh, sweet aroma of blueberry.  Putting a pouch in, the flavor that comes through is a sweet taste of blueberry.  It's relatively smooth, and has a nice balance to it of the flavor profile and the sweetness element.

Rating and Final Thoughts

All in all, not bad.  Some of these are pretty standard, such as Ice Cool and Spearmint.  Others were more unique, such as Watermelon Chili, Blueberry, and Grape Ice.  To rate them, I can form a ranking of how I liked these:

1.  Watermelon Chili, at 3/5
2.  Spearmint, Grape Ice, and Blueberry at 2.83/5
3.  Ice Cool, at 2.67/5.

If I had to recommend any of these, though, it would be Watermelon Chili.  I think that was the most enjoyable, and unique of all of these pouches.

If you want to try them, they're available at SnusMe.com!
