Today we have something on deck I've been quite curious to try! This is a product made by the Outlaw Dip Co (and of course our buddy, the Outlaw Dipper from YouTube). This is his new "Nic Safe" line! I've had a lot of folks asking me about this one, so it's nice to finally sit down with it. For those who may not be aware, Outlaw doesn't make nicotine products any longer. Prior to this, he mostly made tobacco and nicotine free products, but now has this new Nic Safe line. This is also tobacco free, and is made from black tea leaves. However, it contains something called "Nic Safe" now. Let me tell you more about that. Nicsafe is also known as Nixamide, and is made with Nicotinamide (also known as Niacinamide). They say it is "specially formulated to deliver the same satisfaction, pleasure and enjoyment as traditional tobacco products and nicotine vaping". They go on to say Nic Safe is "a form of Vitamin B3 found in food and used as a dietary supplement and medications". Each can weighs 1oz, or 28 grams, and has 15 pouches. That puts these pouches at a FAT 1.86 grams each. When it comes to the Nic Safe content, I can't find it listed anywhere how much is in each can.
Outlaw Nic Safe Pouches: Wintergreen
Outlaw Nic Safe Pouches: Golden Delight
Outlaw Nic Safe Pouches: Wild Watermelon
So, if you're curious to know more about this new product line, let's get into these reviews and check them out!
Flavor Description: "A hint of darkness like a fire cured tobacco leaf, a taste of wintergreen, and some sweetness".
Review: Opening up the can, I get a rich, dark wintergreen smell. It's slightly sweet, and has a lot of body to it. The pouches are nice and plump, and quite juicy. These remind me a lot of traditional dip pouches. There is a little burn in the lip when I put one in, then I get the taste of wintergreen. It's dark, slightly earthy, and rich. There's some sweetness to it, as well. It's pretty solid, honestly. The flavor also hangs out a good 40-45 minutes, so that's a good thing.
Flavor Description: "A delightful sponge cake taste".
Review: When I heard about a Twinkie flavored pouch, I was quite curious. Opening up the can, I can definitely get the influence. It's kind of buttery, but smooth. It's a little sweet, and almost has some vanilla to it. This stuff smells amazing. Same pouches as before, nice and plump and juicy! The taste though, whew. This is good. It's a rich, smooth, buttery, sweet taste. It's got some vanilla to it, and has a creamy essence. It's really good. The flavor also hangs out a good 40-45 minutes with this one!
Flavor Description: "The taste of our new Wild Watermelon is absolutely mouthwatering and refreshing".
Review: I've had Wild Watermelon before, in his prior tobacco/nicotine free long cut format. Opening the can, I remembered why I liked that one so much - it smells amazing. This one has a juicy, sweet, fresh watermelon aroma to it. It's quite good! The pouches, same as the last one, nice and plump and juicy. But the flavor, it's so good. This one has that sweet, fresh watermelon taste that just feels summery in the lip. It's really well rounded, and quite nice. The flavor also hangs out about 40-45 minutes like the others.
Rating, Final Thoughts, and Comments on Nic Safe
So, some comments on Nic Safe. At first, I tried it between my snus and nicotine pouches. I didn't really notice much from it. So, I took a few days and didn't use snus or nicotine pouches (or even caffeine) and just used Nic Safe products. I did notice a slight little "lift" from them, much like that feeling you get when you first use caffeine in the mornings after not having any all night. But it didn't kick like nicotine, if that makes any sense.
Product wise though, these are solid. For those looking to quit snus portions or dip pouches, these are a great alternative to give you that feeling in the lip you miss. The tastes are great. I liked Wild Watermelon most, and gave it a 3.83/5. Golden Delight and Wintergreen came in right behind it at 3.67/5. All three had great flavors, and I'd definitely suggest them for folks looking for tobacco and nicotine free alternatives who miss the feeling of having a pouch in your lip. Even if those don't have a nicotine kick or a kick similar to nicotine to them, they're still nice!
