Velo Zero (Tobacco/Nicotine-Free Pouches) - Review. 4 October 2023.

Today, we have something new and interesting to try out.  This is Velo Zero, a new product by Fiedler and Lundgren.  This is similar to their popular Velo Nicotine Pouches, but these pouches don't have any nicotine or tobacco in them.  I'm surprised more companies don't do this, because I see on social media and in forums a lot that people want pouches that don't have nicotine in them.  I suppose as a way to quit nicotine.  It looks like the Velo folks are jumping on that bandwagon.  The ones we have today are Ice Cool and Cool Storm.  These are flavors they make already in their nicotine pouches, but these new variants are completely free from nicotine.  So, let's get into the reviews and check these out!

Velo Zero:  Cool Storm

Flavor Description:  "a very clear taste of menthol combined with hints of peppermint"

Can Contents:  14 grams, 20 pouches, 0.7g each

Nicotine Strength:  N/A, this doesn't have nicotine.

Review:  Opening the can, I pick up a present, sharp aroma of peppermint.  There's a little menthol in the mix, too.  The pouches are slim, moist, and pretty soft under the lip.  In the flavor, I pick up a present taste of mint.  It's mostly a sharp peppermint, but some menthol in the background.  The flavor longevity is pretty impressive too, lasting a good 45 minutes, on average.

 

Velo Zero:  Ice Cool

Flavor Description:  "notes of crispy peppermint with hints of sweetness and herbs"

Can Contents:  14 grams, 20 pouches, 0.7g each

Nicotine Strength:  N/A, this doesn't have nicotine.

Review:  I like this one a little more, it's more balanced.  The mint is present, but the peppermint and menthol seem to be more evenly balanced.  It's not as sharp, or as bold.  The pouch is the same as the last one.  It's a slim, moist, soft pouch.  In the flavor, the peppermint comes through in a present, but not overpowering way.  It's not overly sweet, either.  There's a little menthol in the mix, but it's not overly medicinal.  The flavor also lasts about 40-45 minutes on this one, like the other one.

Rating and Final Thoughts

All in all, a pretty decent product.  Both rated about the same, 3.3/5.  These weren't too bad.  I mean, I wouldn't use them, because I like nicotine.  But I imagine for people who are looking to use a pouch without nicotine these wouldn't be a bad option.  I'm not sure what else to say about these, they're pretty basic, straightforward products.  They'll freshen your breath.  So, there you go!  Have at it.
