Over the years, I've had quite a few products like this; products that have caffeine instead of nicotine, and are tobacco free. These are some new ones I found recently that look similar to all white snus, or tobacco-free nicotine pouches. They're slim, and white, and tobacco and nicotine free. Checking out their website, this is what they say about the line: "UNLOCK YOUR POTENTIAL. Most people struggle to quit nicotine, so we created products that combat your habitual cravings and offer you more energy, making it much simpler to stop using nicotine and improve yourself". Each can of Wakey weighs 15 grams and has 20 pouches, weighing 0.75g each. Each pouch contains 50mg of caffeine.
Commonalities:
The Pouch / Mouthfeel - The pouch is slim, and soft to the touch. It has a nice moisture amount to it, and a quick release of flavor. Under the lip, I find it to be pretty comfortable, and soft.
The Caffeine Sensation - 50mg is about as much as half a can of Mountain Dew, and I find each pouch gives a jolt like maybe half an energy drink, or a full can of soda.
The Flavor Longevity - On all of these, I find the flavor to last about 40-45 minutes.
Now that we've discussed what they have in common, let's talk about their differences!
Wakey Mint Blizzard
Wakey Mint Blizzard
Product Description: "The vibrant mint flavor is very comparable to the strengths of a blizzard".
Review: Opening the can, I encounter a fresh, clear, clean aroma of peppermint. It's slightly sharp, and a little on the sweeter side. Being a mint product, when I put a pouch under the lip I get a nice cooling sensation. The flavor is pretty fresh in nature. It's a sweeter peppermint flavor, and is pretty sharp. All in all, pretty well rounded.
Wakey Wave Melon
Product Description: "The tropical fresh watermelon flavor gives a long-lasting great taste, that is thrilling and present all the way through the experience".
Review: The aroma of this one is a pretty straight up watermelon smell. It is on the sweeter side. On the flavor, the watermelon is pretty natural. Like with the aroma, it is on the sweeter side. It's a pretty nice melon taste, though!
Wakey Blast Citrus
Product Description: "The fresh combination of natural citrus fruits and mentha creates a desirable and well-known flavor".
Review: As a lover of citrus, this is the one I was more eager to try out. And this one was pretty impressive to me! When I opened the can, I noticed a pretty nice mix of citrus. I picked up some lemon first, then a little lime mingled in. The flavor was pretty much the same. The citrus taste is tart, tangy, and very slightly sweet. The taste is mostly lemon, but I did notice a good presence of lime, too!
Rating and Final Thoughts
These weren't too bad in the end. I liked the Citrus one the most, and gave it a 3.08/5. The Melon one came in at 3/5, and the mint one at 2.92/5. Granted, I enjoy tobacco and nicotine. And, I don't have any intention of quitting. But, for those who are looking for alternatives, these are a good thing to check out if you decide to go that route. These are also something fun you can pick up if you're a non-nicotine user. My wife, for example, doesn't use nicotine but loves caffeine. She enjoys products like Grinds Coffee Pouches, and these, because they have less drip/stain. So, if you're into this sorta thing, give them a try!
cool! I am trying these. I need something to have to fend off my craving for nicotine that I have somehow developed and associated with golf. My brother always has nic pouches and I am too tempted when I play golf with him...which is very often, and by november every year I am addicted, buying my own tins, and lying to my wife. Hopefully this helps me resist having them with me on the golf course.
