Artisan is my latest creation, and a collaboration I did with
The Snus Factory in Sweden. This line was created entirely with the snus community in mind; they picked everything regarding this product. From the can design, to the name, to the flavors, to the strengths, everything! I've previously reviewed the snus variants, but what about people who can't get snus? Well, today we're going to check out those products - the kautabak / "chew bag" variants that are available to the EU and anywhere snus isn't legal, but chewing tobacco is! These products are made similarly to traditional Swedish Snus (pasteurization, GothiaTek standards), but are slightly different - the portion material is a little thicker, and the tobacco is cut different. Those differences enable these to be called "chew bags", and sold legally to the EU!
Artisan is a product line that is truly focused on quality. On the side of each can, you'll find a craft label bearing my signature. That should tell you, for something to be "Snubie Approved", it's gotta be good. It also tells you the strength - stark, or strong. This was the best middleground for strength, and one the community selected. But what is most interesting is this - the tobaccos are listed on the side. In an industry first, Artisan will tell you which tobaccos are in the blend that make up every can of Artisan! For this product, we used only the best, most premium dark air-cured tobaccos from Guatemala, India, and the United States. Artisan truly uses an exquisite blend of tobaccos!

As soon as I open the can, I immediately pick up a rich black coffee aroma. There's a little dark chocolate in the background and a subtle nuttiness. The chew bags are moist, but not overly moist. They have a soft feel, and are comfortable under the lip with a pretty quick release of flavor! The taste is quite good. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but when we made this one we set out to make the world's first premium coffee snus, and I think we hit the mark! The coffee taste is rich, and present. The gentle tones of dark chocolate compliment it quite well. There is a little nuttiness behind it, which serves as a fitting hint for the flavor profile. In the strength, it is stronger than your regular snus, but not too strong. It has a comfortable, steady delivery at the stark/strong level. I find the flavor to hang out a solid 45-50 minutes, on average!
Wrap-Up / Final Thoughts
Usually, this is when I'd do a rating. But, I'm not going to do that. Since it's my own product, and some have said it's silly for me to rate my own products. As far as chew bags go, most of them are extra/ultra strong, so Artisan is a nice break from that. These are more normal/humane strengths. They are incredibly high quality, so they're something EU chew fans can use and enjoy as their full time, all day every day products. For me, this isn't one I really use, I'm more partial to Signature Blend. But, I think we made a really good, high quality product. It is truly the first premium coffee snus the world has seen. From the reviews I've seen, coffee lovers are really enjoying this one. I'm quite proud of it!
