McChrystal's Fine Keg (Nasal Snuff) - Review. 24 February 2022.

With the snus market getting smaller the past few years (thanks to the rise of nicotine pouches), there haven't been a lot of new smokeless tobacco products for me to review.  That has led me to start adding nasal snuff reviews here to Snubie.com.  I've been using and enjoying nasal snuff for quite some time, and figured it was time to add these reviews here!  McChrystals is a UK based company going back to 1926.  They're currently in their fourth generation running the company.  The product description for this one says, "McChrystal's Fine Keg is a creative blend of tobaccos and hops. The initial bitter taste relinquishes its place to a citrus perfume that permeates the nose".  This is a 3.5 gram mini tin.

Honestly, I'm surprised it took me this long to try the one.  I'm a major IPA fan, so hearing that this one has a hoppy presence to it, that touched me down to my soul.  Opening the tin, the aroma that comes out is a mild aroma of hops, some citrus, and a semi-floral presence.  The grind is medium, with a medium moisture amount.  Like other McChrystal's products, I find this one really easy to take.  In the nose, I notice a nice hoppy presence.  It's lightly floral and has a mild, but bright presence of citrus.  I don't get a major drip or throat hit with this one.  The nicotine strength on this one is pretty decent, and feels about average.  In the after-effect, I notice a light presence of hops and citrus that lingers for a bit, and then fades away.

Rating and Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed this one.  I'm honestly surprised it's taken me this long to try it out.  I rated it at 3.54/5.  While this was part of a sampler I bought recently, I definitely will be buying more of it.  I've found when using a nice IPA snus and drinking an IPA, this is a perfect pairing!  However, even if you're not a drinker, on it's own this is a great snuff.  I could use this one even without a beer.
