With the snus market getting smaller the past few years (thanks to the rise of nicotine pouches), there haven't been a lot of new smokeless tobacco products for me to review. That has led me to start adding nasal snuff reviews here to Snubie.com. I've been using and enjoying nasal snuff for quite some time, and figured it was time to add these reviews here! This is a product by Dholakia Tobacco in India. From my earliest days of using snus, Dholakia has been one of my favorite nasal snuff makers, and this has been one of my favorites. I recently reviewed a product called
Dholakia Swizz, which reminded me a lot of this one. I'm not sure if they're the same, so I'm going to do a review of this one and see! The
product description for this one says, "
Dholakia Swiss Chocolate is a homage to the cocoa bean. This absolute marvel of snuff making transcends the ordinary and propels this powdered delight to a new level of refinement. This snuff has been made with chocolate lovers in mind". I have a few different tins here to show you. The square one is a 9 gram tin, and the round one is a 25 gram tin.
I like the round can more, because it's easier to just pop the top and dive right into it. From the first whiff, the note coming off the tin is a semi-sweet chocolate. It has a moderate moisture amount, is semi-dry, and has a mid-fine grind. It's very easy to take; one of the things I like about Dholakia nasal snuff is the ease of use. In the nose, it's a present chocolate smell. It's dark, lightly creamy, and has a light touch of tobacco. I don't notice much of a throat hit but can get a bit of a runny nose from time to time. The nicotine isn't super strong, but it's not weak by any means. In terms of after-aroma and longevity, I do notice some lightly sweet chocolate lingering around.
Rating and Final Thoughts
Honesty, this one is very similar to the Dholakia Swizz I reviewed before. It may be the same, I'm not sure. Looking at it on it's own, however, it's a great product. I rated it at 3.29/5. As I've said before, Dholakia is one of my favorite nasal snuff manufacturers. If you've never had their stuff, it's worth checking out. Of all their products, however, this one is my favorite. I've used it on and off for over a decade, so I suggest giving this one a go!
