Cannadips Terpene Pouches: Caryophyllene (Natural Mint) - Review. 25 October 2021.

If you've read my website long, you know I'm a big fan of Cannadips CBD Pouches.  Today, we're checking out something a little different from them.  These are CBD-free and THC-free pouches.  I'm dubbing them "Terpene Pouches", because I'm not sure what else to call them.  The description Cannadips gives for these says:  "Cannadips terpene infused pouches are tobacco and nicotine free. They are also THC and CBD free and contain zero cannabinoids. Just pure flavors enhanced with a blast of natural terpenes. Their use will not impact THC or CBD drug tests."  They've recently launched four flavors of these, and today, we're talking about the one containing Caryophyllene, with a Natural Mint flavor!

What are terpenes?

Before we get into the review, I'll explain this a little.  Terpenes aren't the same thing as cannabinoids.  Terpenes are primarily responsible for the sense of smell of most plants.  Cannabinoids are the chemical compounds in cannabis.  Some terpenes do act on the endocannabinoid system like cannabinoids do, but the body uses and absorbs terpenes differently from cannabinoids.  This one, Natural Mint, contains the terpene Caryophyllene.  This is how Cannadips describes it:  "Caryophyllene, found in black pepper and known for being spicy, is commonly used as an ingredient in combination with others to deliver anti-inflammatory benefits."

Flavor Description:  "Biting with mint and pepper the natural mint does not disappoint. The true hero of the Cannadips Terpenes portfolio this terpene powered Mint cuts through any flavor your palette might need and comes correct with a wave of bursting mint to freshen up any daily experience."
Can Contents:  Each can weighs in at 8.25g, and has 15 pouches, for a weight of 0.55g per pouch

One thing you'll notice about these products is that they come in a white plastic can, so not the usual black/metal can that Cannadips comes in.  Also, you'll notice the aroma and flavor is much more bold than your regular Cannadips products.  If you've had Cannadips CBD Pouches: Natural Mint, this one is similar in aroma and flavor, but kicked up a notch.  When you open the can, this one has a smooth, sweet aroma of mint.  It has almost an earthy presence in the background.  The pouches are semi-dry, but still soft, and comfortable under the lip.  Being a mint product, they also have a nice cooling presence under the lip, as well.  The mint flavor is smooth, and natural.  There are earthy tones, and a subtle sweetness.  It's a pretty refreshing, balanced taste.  In terms of longevity, the flavor lasts about an hour, sometimes a little more.  In terms of any effect from these pouches, I'll talk about that below.

Rating and Final Thoughts

Okay, so in terms of the effect, I don't notice an effect similar to CBD, nor do I notice one similar to nicotine.  I only got a can of each so I could review them, so I'm going to grab some more and test them and try to get a more long term evaluation on the effects.  But, I did find the same aroma, flavor, and longevity effect I get from normal Cannadips without the CBD.  They have the same quality to them, and the same enjoyable nature.  For Natural Mint, I rated it at 3.75/5.  I usually give a rating for effect, but I didn't give one on this one since these don't contain THC, CBD, Nicotine, or anything of the like.
