I don't review a lot of nicotine pouches anymore, but I saw these on Instagram and was curious to check them out. These are products distributed by Whitetail Smokeless. I'm not sure if they make them or have them private label produced, however. I've reviewed their tobacco-free dip before, but these are a little different. These are tobacco free nicotine pouches. Not only that, but these use synthetic nicotine, which means there is no tobacco involved in these whatsoever. Many products use tobacco-derived nicotine, but by using the synthetic nicotine Rack can claim they are 100% tobacco free. Their website gives this description: "Rack Nicotine Pouches are white, dry, tobacco free, flavored, nicotine pouches that are made with “Non Tobacco Nicotine” which is a tobacco-free synthetic nicotine meaning our Rack pouches contain absolutely zero ingredients derived from tobacco!"
Rack: Wintergreen
Rack: Mint
In terms of commonalities, I cover what they have in common before we get into the review, then we'll discuss what is different about them.
Product Details
Portion Count - 20 portions per can
Portion Weight - I weighed them out and wintergreen came in at 0.39g each, and mint came in at 0.33g each.
Can Weight - Going off the weights above, a can would weigh between 6.6g and 7.8g.
Nicotine Strength - Two strengths are available - 3mg/portion and 6mg/portion.
Usage:
Portion / Mouthfeel - These are slim, with a nice fit in the lip, but a little on the dryer side.
In The Lip - Both of these have a cooling presence under the lip and a nice added freshness.
3mg Strength - This one is a lower strength alternative, feeling about half the regular strength level.
6mg Strength - This one is a more regular strength option, feeling just a hair below regular strength.
Flavor Longevity - Both of these tend to last about 35-45 minutes, on average.
Rack: Wintergreen
Flavor Description: N/A, assuming "Wintergreen"
Review: In the aroma of this one, it reminds me of a wintergreen Life Saver. Or, a wintergreen Tic Tac, if you've had those. It's a light, gentle, sweet aroma of wintergreen. In the flavor the wintergreen taste is pretty mild. It's gentle, semi-chalky, and lightly sweet in nature.
Rack: Mint
Flavor Description: N/A, assuming "Mint"
Review: This one has a pretty smooth mint aroma to it. At first, it seems like spearmint, but I seem to notice a little peppermint mingling in from the background. Not a super present peppermint by any means, but I seem to notice it. It is on the sweeter side, but not too overbearingly sweet. In the flavor, it's a smooth, sweet taste of mint. It's more on the spearmint side, but again, I seem to notice some peppermint mixing in from the background. It's pretty well balanced, though.
Rating and Final Thoughts
For US nicotine pouch options, these weren't too bad. I'm not the biggest wintergreen fan, so that one rated at 2.96/5. The mint one rated a little higher, at 3.13/5. Though I don't use a lot of nicotine pouches, I've generally considered anything between a 3 and a 4 to be a good product, or a decent product. These are both hovering around a 3, so I would suggest them to people who like nicotine pouches. If you like a dryer pouch, you'll probably enjoy these!
