VID Nicotine Pouches: Cool Citrus - Review. 28 July 2021.

I recently heard about these new VID (ViD?) nicotine pouches made by Kurbitssnus.  Kurbits makes some of my favorite snus products, so when I heard about these I was pretty excited to try them out.  I'm not the biggest user of nicotine pouches myself, but I'm always up to try something new.  Especially when it's a product made by a snus company that I enjoy.  I had trouble finding these, but our friends at Nic Pouch UK hooked us up with some, so a big thanks to them.  The VID line has 5 flavors:  Arctic Blast (Mint), Cool Citrus, Fresh Cola, Fruit Fusion, and Watermelon.  So, there's something for everyone.  Each can weighs 15.6 grams and has 20 portions, for 0.78g portions.  The nicotine strength is 12mg/g (1.2%), or 9.36mg/portion.

One thing I like about Kurbitssnus is their product descriptions.  They get a little wordy with them, which is pretty cool.  It's not the usual "this product has a lemon taste".  So, I'm going to share the whole thing.  The translation is a little spotty, but here you go:  "We have combined our favorites in VID Cool Citrus. They each have their part in creating a wonderful combination together with a pinch of menthol to increase the freshness and balance of the acid which is also a natural part of the citrus fruits. VID Cool Citrus is not created to be a super strong product but a product for the real connoisseur. Fairly sweet, fresh mint and with clear overtones of Citrus gives us a product for those who want to reduce their other nicotine intake or who are simply looking for a really tasty nicotine product".

Citrus is my preferred flavor when it comes to snus, so I was pretty interested in this one.  When you open the can, this one has a pretty big citrus smell.  But it's not super sweet, and it's not bergamot.  It's sour in nature, and a little on the tart side.  The citrus smells closest to lemon.  It also seems to have a little cooling presence in the aroma, which carries through to the flavor, and the sensation in the lip.  The pouches are slim, with a good moisture amount, and a soft material.  The flavor is mostly a tart, sour taste of lemon.  It's lightly sweet in nature, with a little cooling presence.  The nicotine strength feels a little above regular, but not too strong.  The flavor on average lasts about 45 minutes.

Rating and Final Thoughts

I rated this one at 3.33 out of 5.  It's a pretty nice citrus flavor.  I like that it has those tart, sour notes to it.  The cooling presence is interesting as well.  It's not minty, but there's a cooling presence in the aroma and flavor.  This is probably one of the better ones in the Vid series, in my opinion.  The whole line is pretty solid, so if you're looking for a new nicotine pouch line to try out, check out Vid!
