Maverick Mint Pouches: Frost Wood & Berry Valley - Reviews. 27 July 2021.

I was recently browsing Nic Pouch UK and found this new product line called Maverick.  I saw that it was made by 77 in Poland and is a tobacco-free product with mint leaves in the pouch!  This was interesting to me, because I've had some products like that in the US called Jake's Mint Chew.  I was definitely curious to see what a European company would do with a product like this.  I also really liked the can designs and the outdoor theme, so that was also an added bonus.  The description for this line on Nic Pouch UK says, "the main ingredient of Maverick pouches is natural mint leaves. It gives Maverick a deliciously mellow and organic flavour. It also makes them very comfortable under the lip."  Now, let's get into the individual reviews of each product!

Maverick Berry Valley

Flavor Description:  "Berry Valley has a unique mix of natural mint leaf and wild berries."
Can Contents:  I counted 27 portions, and weighed them out at 0.34g each.
Nicotine Strength:  25mg/g (2.5%), or 8.5mg/portion (due to the 0.34g portions)

Review:  While the other portions are green, these are more regular looking.  The aroma of this one is a natural, refreshing berry aroma with a hint of peppermint.  The pouches are comfortable in the lip, albeit a little light in weight.  In the flavor profile it's a lightly sweet berry taste with some mint.  It seems to be a sweeter berry, like a mix of cherry, strawberry, and raspberry.  The nicotine strength feels a little above regular strength, and the flavor lasts well over an hour!

Maverick Frost Wood

Flavor Description:  "Maverick Natural Mint - Frost Wood has a wonderful taste of wild mint. This is a soft and natural mint leaf flavour without any hint of menthol."
Can Contents:  I counted 26 portions, and weighed them out at 0.42g each.
Nicotine Strength:  25mg/g (2.5%), or 10.5mg/portion (due to the 0.42g portions)

Review:  I was really surprised, and impressed with this one.  There's a ton of mint products out there, but the flavor on this one comes across in a really fresh, unique way.  The aroma is a fresh, natural, mellow mint aroma.  The pouches are green!  Yes, green.  It's cool looking.  They're lighter in weight, but still pretty soft, and comfortable.  Being a mint product, you get a nice cooling presence in the lip with these.  The flavor is a lightly sweet taste of mint.  It's very natural, refreshing, and smooth in nature.  The nicotine level feels a little above regular strength.  The flavor also has some solid longevity to it, lasting well over an hour!

Rating and Final Thoughts

There's a billion mint products out there, and I rarely (if ever) rate a mint product over a non-mint flavor.  But, in this series, I actually liked the mint one more.  Frost Wood (Mint) came in at 3.67/5, and Berry Valley came in at 3.58/5.  Both were quite tasty, and I was really impressed with 77's first mint pouches.  But something about that mint one, it was magical.  A great, refreshing, long lasting taste.  The berry one was also quite good.  They also have a new citrus flavored one in this series, so I'll do a review of that one once I get ahold of it!
