I noticed a new company called Lip pop up on Instagram not too long ago, and I found myself curious to try out their products. They're a Sweden based manufacturer of nicotine pouches. Yes, I know, that's like 99% of what I review lately. But companies aren't really making new snus products anymore, so this is most of what I review. Granted, I'm still a snus guy, but I review these because they certainly have a place in the market to help people quit smoking. In this review I'll be talking about four of their flavors: Minty Dream, Melon Twist, Blue Frost, and Berry Blast. So, let's check them out!
Lip Minty Dream
Lip Blue Frost
Lip Blue Frost
Lip Berry Blast
Lip Berry Blast
Lip Minty Dream
Flavor Description: "A fresh and clean taste of mint, this product will make you happy all day long."
Can Contents: 16g, 21 portions, 0.7g each
Nicotine Strength: 8mg/g (0.8%), or 4.56mg/portion
The Review:
When you open the can of this one, it's a fresh, mild, sweet smell. It kind of reminds me of a mix of light peppermint and subtle, sweet spearmint. The portions are slim, moderately soft, comfortable under the lip, and come with a light cooling presence due to the mint. The flavor is pretty mild, but well balanced and not super in your face. It's a sweeter mint taste, and is refreshing in nature. The flavor is a sweet peppermint one, with a little spearmint in the mix. In terms of the strength, it feels to be just a little below regular strength. The flavor longevity, on average, lasts about 30-40 minutes.
Lip Melon Twist
Lip Melon Twist
Flavor Description: "A silky, smooth taste of fresh honeydew melon and gives you the vibes from the tropics."
Can Contents: 16g, 21 portions, 0.7g each
Nicotine Strength: 6mg/g (0.6%), or 4.56mg/portion
The Review:
This one has a fresh, lightly sweet aroma of honeydew to it. The portions are much the same as the last, soft, slim, and semi-moist. In the flavor, it's a pretty fresh taste of honeydew. It almost seems to have a little mango mixed in. In terms of the nicotine strength, it feels about half the regular strength mark. The flavor, like the last one, lasts about 30-40 minutes, on average.
Flavor Description: "A cooling experience with a touch of lavender and blueberry, it will remind you of Swedish traditions and a classic bergamot flavor."
Can Contents: 16g, 21 portions, 0.7g each
Nicotine Strength: 8mg/g (0.8%), or 4.56mg/portion
The Review:
When I first saw the name of this one, I assumed it would be just another mint product. But, it wasn't. And I was incredibly impressed with it. In the flavor, I pick up lavender, along with a light berry character, and a subtle herbal taste. It's not super sweet either, which is nice. The pouches, like the last one, are pretty soft, semi-moist, and comfortable under the lip. The flavor is really interesting. I pick up a light peppery tone first, along with a little lavender, some herbal notes, and a faint berry taste. The nicotine feels to be a little below regular, and the flavor lasts about 30-40 minutes on average.
Flavor Description: "A distinct taste of Swedish summer berries with a touch of citrus."
Can Contents: 16g, 21 portions, 0.7g each
Nicotine Strength: 8mg/g (0.8%), or 4.56mg/portion
The Review:
This one has a nice berry aroma to it. It's lightly sweet, and it seems to be a mix of cherry, maybe a little cranberry, and possibly some raspberry mixed in there. The pouches are slim, soft, and moderately moist. I also notice a little cooling presence in the lip with this one, as well. The flavor is a mild berry taste with some sweetness. In terms of what berry, it seems to be a little cherry, maybe a little raspberry kicking around, and a bit of cranberry. In terms of strength, it feels to be a little below regular strength. The flavor, on average, lasts about 30-40 minutes.
Rating and Final Thoughts
Going into these, I didn't expect much. However, I was quite impressed with them. For me, any nicotine pouch that rates over a 3/5 is a good one, and these all rated higher than a 3. Minty Dream and Melon Twist at 3.08/5, Berry Blast at 3.25/5, and Blue Frost at 3.33/5. Of the 4, Blue Frost was the most impressive. Honestly, it reminds me a lot of Göteborgs Rapé, but in a nicotine pouch. I haven't met a nic pouch that had that flavor yet, so I was pretty impressed with this one.
