Epok Wild Purple (Chew Bags/Poland) - Review (Discontinued). 7 January 2021.

NOTE:  This product has been discontinued and is no longer for sale.

Today, I'm going to be talking about a product I recently found on Nicopoder.com, an e-store in Poland.  This is Epok Chew, which is a product containing white tobacco.  It's called chew bags because that makes it legal to be sold in the EU, where snus is banned.  I know, it doesn't make any sense, but that's the EU for you.  Back in 2019 I reviewed Epok Berry Frost Chew Bags, which were sold in Denmark, and these seem to be pretty similar to those!  Nicopoder says this one has "a taste of fresh blueberries with the addition of mint".  Each can weighs 14 grams and has 20 portions, for 0.7g portions.  For the Light version, the strength is 6mg/g (0.6%), or 4.2mg/portion.  For the Regular version, the strength is 8.5mg/g (0.85%), or 5.95mg/portion.

Now, there's a lot of terms out there for the "all white" category, such as "nicotine pouches", and "white tobacco".  This can get confusing!  Looking at this photo, Lyft and Epok don't look that much different.  However, I wanted to differentiate.  Lyft is a nicotine pouch product, meaning it doesn't contain tobacco.  Epok actually contains white tobacco.  This is how they describe it's production:  "Before the treatment, the carefully selected brown tobacco is prepared.  In the next step tobacco is treated through a washing process in order to obtain white tobacco.  This process lasts until the brown tobacco is completely cleaned into white tobacco.  When the tobacco has its all white color, it’s refined with different and fresh flavors."  So, while they may look similar, they are quite different.

Epok Wild Purple (Light)

First, this can is the old-style Epok can.  It has the catch lid on top that pops off and has the futuristic look to it.  When you open the can, the aroma that comes through is a sweet, fresh aroma of blueberry with subtle tropical notes to it.  I find the portions to be slim and comfortable under the lip.  They're moderately soft to the touch, and have moist contents.  The flavor reminds me of a tropical blueberry taste.  It's a mildly sweet taste of blueberry with this tropical hint in the background and a tone of freshness to it.  It doesn't taste minty, but has a freshness to it that reminds me of mint.  On this one, the nicotine strength feels to be much lighter than regular strength.  The flavor, on average, lasts about 40-45 minutes on average.

Epok Wild Purple (Regular)

This can is different, it is the new-style can with the hinged catch lid and the FlexLid, which is a rubbery seal under the catch lid that expands as you add more used portions to the top lid.  I like this can much better, personally!  In terms of a review, everything I said about the previous version is the same in this version other than the nicotine strength.  This one is the regular version, which is a little stronger.  Now, it does feel to be less strong than a regular strength product, but it's not as light in the nicotine department as the previous one.  I'd just place it a hair below regular strength.

Rating and Final Thoughts

I've always enjoyed the Wild Purple / Berry Frost flavor.  It's very unique.  Not something I could use full time, but it's pretty tasty whenever it pops up for review.  This one rated at 3.29 out of 5.  If you like fruity flavors, this is one you'll definitely one to check out.  It's a pretty unique taste!
