Frē Nicotine Pouches (Mint & Mocha) - Review. 17 November 2020.

Another day, another new nicotine pouch product on the market.  I know, it feels like I do a lot of reviews of these, but it feels like that's all that is being produced anymore.  Today we're talking about Frē Nicotine Pouches, a new product line produced by DTPL in India and sold by Turning Point Brands, in the US.  Turning Point, amongst other things, has brands like Stoker's Dip, and Beech-Nut Chew.  They've launched two flavors:  Mint and Mocha, both of which come in a 9mg and 12mg strength.  I've seen them sold on Nicokick.com for those in the US interested in trying them out.  Frē comes in two strengths: 9mg (per portion) and 12mg (per portion).  I'll be reviewing one of each strength in this review to get a feel for how strong each strength level is.

What is most interesting about Frē however, is that it is completely tobacco free.  While most nicotine pouches don't contain tobacco, they do contain tobacco derived nicotine.  Frē contains nicotine that isn't derived from tobacco, making it fully and completely tobacco free.

Fre Nicotine Pouches: Mint (9mg)
Flavor Description:  "Frē Mint provides a robust dose of nicotine with a fresh kick of cool mint."
Contents:  10g, 20 portions, 0.5g portions
Nicotine:  9mg/pouch, which would be a total nicotine of 18mg/g (1.8%).

Review:  There are so many mint products on the market that it's hard to get excited about them.  But, I did enjoy the approach they took with this one in the flavor profile.  The aroma is a fresh, clear, smooth aroma of peppermint.  The portions are semi-dry, and lighter in weight than most nicotine pouches.  You'll encounter a light cooling sensation in the lip when you put one in.  The flavor is a smooth taste of peppermint; it comes through in a refreshing way, with a light sweetness.  The nicotine feels to be about the regular strength level, and the flavor lasts about 30-40 minutes on average.

Fre Nicotine Pouches: Mocha (12mg)
Flavor Description:  "Frē Mocha provides a robust dose of nicotine with an electrifying espresso splash and the smoothness of decadent cocoa."
Contents:  10g, 20 portions, 0.5g portions
Nicotine:  12mg/pouch, which would be a total nicotine of 24mg/g (2.4%).

Review:  When you open the can, a mild, black coffee aroma greets you.  There's subtle chocolate tones, and a light sweetness.  The portions are semi-dry, and lighter in weight than the average nicotine pouch.  The flavor is a nice coffee taste!  It's mild, and lightly sweet, with a creaminess to it.  There's also a subtle hint of chocolate in the background.  The nicotine strength feels a little about regular, and the flavor lasts about 30-40 minutes on average.

Rating and Final Thoughts:

For these two, I enjoyed them both, but the Mocha ranked a little higher for me.  Mocha rated at 2.92/5, and Mint rated at 2.83/5.  The mint one had a unique flavor, in how smooth the peppermint was.  The Mocha is probably one of the best coffee tasting nicotine pouches I've had to date.  If you're a nicotine pouch consumer, you'll probably enjoy these.  I found them both to be quite satisfying, and to have an enjoyable flavor profile!
