Lyft Urban Vibe (Nicotine Pouches) - Review (Discontinued). 6 February 2020.

NOTE:  The Lyft brand has been rebranded as Velo.  As such, this product has been discontinued and is no longer for sale.

There's a new Lyft product in town, meet Lyft Urban Vibe!  Now, I recently bought a farm and moved out to the country, but I do work in the city, so I get to feel the "urban vibe" in that way. Lyft, if you're not familiar, is a nicotine pouch product - meaning it contains nicotine, but no tobacco.  This is a growing trend for folks who may want to quit tobacco, but still enjoy nicotine.  I personally enjoy tobacco and use regular snus, but I'm glad these are out there for people who may want that type of alternative!  When it comes to Lyft Urban Vibe, the flavor description says "A combination of sweet fruits, a smooth taste of red berries and cranberries."  Each can weighs 16.8g and has 24 portions, for 0.7 portions.  The nicotine content is 14mg/g (1.4%), or 9.8mg/portion.

One great thing about Lyft falling under the Fiedler and Lundgren family now is that many of their cans have the FlexLid!  If you aren't familiar with the FlexLid, it's basically a rubbery catch lid that grows and expands as you put used portions in it, to accommodate more used portions!  Or, if you don't use your catch lid for used portions, you could even put a second type of snus or nicotine pouch in there to carry with you.  In my opinion, the FlexLid is probably the greatest snus innovation in recent memory.

Also, if you're not familiar with nicotine pouches, I'll explain. These are products that contain nicotine, but no tobacco. In the case of Lyft, these have eucalyptus and pine fiber in them instead of tobacco. These are a good alternative for people who may want to quit smoking, or tobacco in general, but not nicotine. This picture shows a look at what is inside the pouch itself. Here you see the cans, portions, and even what is inside the pouch, and can see that it looks similar to regular snus, except the portions and the material inside the portions are all white. Everything else about the experience is similar to regular snus.

When you open the can, there’s a dark berry aroma, which reminds me of cranberry. There’s also a light raspberry hint to it. The portions are slim, soft, and comfortable in the lip. The flavor is much like the aroma with the berry presence, but it reminds me a lot of energy drink. There’s a tart taste of berry, which seems to be a mix of cranberry and raspberry. The nicotine feels to be right at the strong level, and the flavor lasts around 45 minutes on average.  While I don't personally use this type of product, I think those who do enjoy nicotine products may enjoy this taste.  It's pretty unique, and provides a flavor that doesn't really exist in nicotine pouches:  energy drink!

NOTE:  This product isn't made anymore, but you can check out SnusExpress.com for other products in the Lyft/Velo series.
