Lyft Easy Mint (Nicotine Pouches) - Review (Discontinued). 7 February 2020

NOTE:  The Lyft brand has been rebranded as Velo.  As such, this product has been discontinued and is no longer for sale.

The folks at Fiedler and Lundgren have launched a new nicotine pouch product in the Lyft line, this one called Easy Mint (Mellow). This is actually their second "mellow" release, following Berry Frost (Mellow) which launched in June of 2019. Mellow simply means this product has a lower nicotine strength than the regular 8mg/g level.  The flavor description on this one says it has a "mellow mint taste".  Each can weighs 16.8g and has 24 portions, for 0.7g portions. The nicotine content is 6mg/g (0.6%), or 4.2mg/portion.  As you can see, it's the same size as regular Lyft, but just a little lighter in the nicotine department.

If you're not familiar with nicotine pouches, I'll explain. These are products that contain nicotine, but no tobacco. In the case of Lyft, these have eucalyptus and pine fiber in them instead of tobacco. These are a good alternative for people who may want to quit smoking, or tobacco in general, but not nicotine. This picture shows a look at what is inside the pouch itself. Here you see the cans, portions, and even what is inside the pouch, and can see that it looks similar to regular snus, except the portions and the material inside the portions are all white. Everything else about the experience is similar to regular snus.

When you open the can, the aroma that greets you is a smooth, sweet smell of spearmint. The portions are slim, soft, and comfortable in the lip. The taste is a pretty mellow, but sweet taste of spearmint. I find it to be sweeter than most other mint products on the market. The nicotine feels to be a little less strong than regular strength, but not too weak. If you have lower nicotine needs, you’ll probably find enjoyment with this strength. The flavor, on average, lasts about 45 minutes.  I'm glad to see more full size products launching with lower nicotine strengths.  I see people often asking for lower levels of nicotine but in a full size portions.  I'm hoping this trend continues because it definitely provides options to that category of people!

Update - Denmark vs Sweden Cans:

You may notice a slight difference depending on where you buy your cans from.  Left, Lyft in Denmark.  Right, Lyft in Sweden.  The Denmark can is the old style with the pop off catch lid.  The can on the right, sold in Sweden, is like other Fiedler and Lundgren cans, and has the FlexLid, which is an expandable catch lid.  I wanted to show both as a comparison, so you know both products are Lyft.  However, they may differ in can style depending on where they are purchased from.
