I've been looking forward to reviewing this one because I'm a big fan of V2's Cool M (Cool Mint) flavor.
Thunder Cool Mint Slim White Dry ranks as one of my favorite mint snuses. That is saying a lot because there's a million mint products on the market right now. Now they're available in the chew bag format! If you're new to chew bags, check out
this video I made which goes over the differences. Basically, due to the EU snus ban, these products are legal to be sold because they're called "chew bags". V2 has more of them on the market than anyone else, and they come in a variety of flavors and nicotine strengths.
In case you're new to chew bags, here is a V2 chew bag and a V2 snus portion, cut open to show a comparison between the two. This is how V2 describes their chew bag products: “
The tobacco leaves are heated and moistened with steam so they can be cut into smaller pieces. The tobacco for Thunder Chewing Bags are pieces cut with a length of between 5 - 50 mm and a width of 0.6-0.8 mm. The bags used are specially designed to be chewed to release flavor and nicotine. It is made from a paper with a special weave which which is thicker and much stronger than the type of bag that snus is packed in. Thunder Chewing Bags are also fundamentally different from the other chewing tobacco products on the market by being cut tobacco in small bags while others are made from spun tobacco.” Though these are called "chew bags" and V2 mentions the pouches being able to be chewed, I have never done that with these or any other chew bags. I simply put them in my upper lip and enjoy them like snus!
When it comes to this product, the
product description says, "
Thunder Cool M Chew has a sweet long-lasting mint flavor." This product comes in a 17.6 gram can with 22 portions for 0.8 gram portions. The nicotine content is 16mg/g (1.6%) which breaks down to 12.8mg/portion. When you open the can the aroma that comes through is the classic Cool Mint smell - a smooth, sweet, mellow peppermint smell. The portions are the white type and require a little fluffing to loosen up the tobacco before it goes into the lip. The portion material is soft to the touch and feels comfortable in the lip. When you put a portion in you'll encounter a mild cooling presence in the lip, as well! The flavor is a lot like the Cool M snus - a smooth, mellow, mildly sweet peppermint flavor. It seems like there may be a little menthol in this one, as well. The flavor lasts a long amount of time with this one; I've found I can enjoy this one for up to an hour/hour and fifteen minutes! The nicotine kick feels to be strong, but not as strong as I've noticed in the past with Thunder Extra Strong products. But it still provides a solid kick!
If you're somewhere where you can't get snus but you can get chew bags, I definitely suggest giving these a try. As I said before, Cool M is one of my favorite mint snus flavors so I highly advise trying it!
