Lundgren's LG Slim Mojito - Review (Discontinued). 24 February 2016.

Note:  This product has been discontinued and is no longer for sale.

Fiedler and Lundgren has launched a brand new product in the Lundgren's family - Lundgren's Slim Mojito! I'm a big fan of the Lundgren's series, so I was quite excited to hear about this one. The product description says, "Made of tobacco cultivated in Skåne, Sweden. With characteristic aroma of lime and peppermint topped with exotic spices and herbs. With a new, perforated pouch which allow the taste to get out faster and feel more."  The lime flavor is criminally underrepresented in the snus world, so I was quite excited to hear about this one.  This product also comes in the perforated white portion and includes the new FlexLid, which is a flexible catch lid that expands as you add more used portions to it.

I don't drink "hard" alcohol, when my daughter was born I gave up anything harder than beer or wine, but back in the day I did enjoy a mojito from time to time.  In case you aren't familiar, a mojito is a drink made from lime juice, sugar, club soda and mint leaves.  It's a pretty tasty beverage, especially in the summer time.  I remember this being a popular beverage at beachside bars in Florida. In the past, Skruf released Skruf Slim Sun Fresh, which paired citrus and mint. I'll be honest, I wasn't a fan of that one. So I went into this review a little apprehensive and came out pleasantly surprised!

The portion format is awesome. You have the comfort of a slim portion, the long lasting nature of a white portion and the quick flavor release due to the pouches being perforated.  When you open the can you'll quickly notice the smell of lime with just a light touch of peppermint in the background.  When I put a portion in my lip I notice a very light cooling sensation that doesn't last long, but I also noticed sporadic cooling presence in my mouth here and there.  The flavor of lime is front and center and comes through in a very natural way - not too tart, not too sweet.  There is a little peppermint in the background and a nice salt balance.  After having the portion in for a while you'll start to notice a light herbal taste.  It's not too pronounced, and you only notice it after you've had the portion in for about 20-25 minutes.  All in all, it's a pretty great tasting snus!

The only place I've seen this snus for sale is TopSnus.com. Thanks to our reader who grabbed me a can from them and shipped it over to me. If you're in the US, I imagine Snus24.com will carry this eventually as they carry all the other Lundgren's products.
