Skruf (Original Portion) #2 - Review. 12 December 2015.

The Skruf brand recently went through a redesign, so I've been revisiting all of their products to kick off 2019.  This product is actually my favorite of the entire Skruf line.  For a while, this product wasn't available to the US.  When Skruf released Skruf Ecological: Original Portion, that product was available to the US and this one wasn't.  But the Skruf Ecological line was discontinued and we can finally get this product again.  Which is good, in my opinion, because this is the best product Skruf makes.  The flavor description for this snus says it has "a pure, gentle tobacco flavor containing natural aromas from bergamot and rose oil. Made with a larger proportion of tobacco leaves than traditional snus."  It comes in a 22g can with 24 portions for 0.92g portions.  The nicotine strength is a 2/4, and listed as "medium/regular" on most stores, which puts it between 8mg/g-10mg/g.

When you open the can, the aroma that greets you is an earthy tobacco presence and a presence of bergamot. There's a light floral sweetness that compliments the aroma, due to the unique inclusion of rose oil. The portions are moderately moist, so the flavor releases quickly but also lasts a good amount of time. The portions are soft to the touch and feel great in the lip. The flavor is where it's at with this snus though; in most traditional flavored products, the tobacco is more in the background, behind the citrus. With Skruf OP, however, you can taste the tobacco easily! The citrus flavor is present, but relatively gentle. The tobacco flavor comes through quite clearly and is mild and earthy. There is a floral sweetness that works really well with that citrus that is, again, due to the inclusion of rose oil. The nicotine strength feels to be about the regular level and the flavor, on average, lasts about 45-50 minutes.

As far as the entire Skruf line goes, this one is my favorite.  It has a great flavor, a regular nicotine strength, and now an even better looking can.  This one is a must try!
