It's been a few years since I reviewed this one, but the
SnusCENTRAL.com store just started carrying the WOW! line to the US, so I figured it was time to revisit them. WOW! is a product by
SPT (Scandinavian Premium Tobacco) which, as of a few years ago, is now owned by
GN Tobacco. The WOW! line is unique in that it contains a very unique pouch size. When I spoke with SPT back in 2013, they told me "
The pouch is known as a "unisex" 18/30 - which is the middle size between mini and full size".
The
flavor description of this product says, "
WOW! Wintermint is made of hand picked tobacco and has a dominant mint flavor, reminiscent of American chewing gum.." The can weight is 15 grams and contains 22 portions at 0.68g each. The nicotine strength is 8mg/g (0.8%), which is only 5.44mg/portion with the lighter/unisex pouch.
First of all, yes, the product description and store listings for WOW! products describe them as "white portions". As you can see, these are not white portions. I'm not sure why they still call them white portions but they do. These are clearly original portions. Now that we've got that out of the way, on to the review! When you open the can, the aroma that greets you is a sweet mix of wintergreen and spearmint. The wintergreen seems more present, and the spearmint is right behind it. The portions are original portions and a little smaller than your regular size portion format. They are soft to the touch and quite comfortable in the lip! The flavor is much like the aroma - a sweet pairing of wintergreen and spearmint. While I'm not the biggest wintergreen fan in the world, I do enjoy the taste of this product. There is also a mild tobacco character in the background, as well. The flavor, on average, lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. While I usually use two portions, I find the nicotine strength feels to be a touch stronger than regular strength when you use one portion.
If you like mint products, or wintergreen products, and want to try something new, give this one a try! It's a different twist on the mint flavor.
