Today, we have a new snus product to check out! Yes, I know, in 2024 we don't see many of these, so this is definitely cause for excitement! This is Fiedler and Lundgren's new Lundgren's Aftonglöd. Aftonglöd translates to "evening glow". This one seems to be geared toward the more "traditional" flavor profile. Here's how it's

A taste of tobacco, leather and bergamot". With all the mint products out there, I'll be honest, this sounds pretty darn good! Each can weighs 17.6 grams and has 22 portions, weighing 0.8 grams each. The nicotine content is 10mg/g, which breaks down to 8mg/portion. So, if you're as curious about this one as I am, let's dive into it and check it out!
When I pop the lid, the first thing I notice is leather, along with a smoky tone. The tobacco base is rich and earthy. I don't pick up much bergamot, but it's there. Just very faint. The portions are the familiar perforated white portions. They have little holes in them to release flavor quicker. With me, I can't use these too much as they irritate my gums, but I can use a can here and there without much issue. This one also has the "FlexLid" in the catch lid, which is an expandable/rubbery catch lid for used portions, so the more you add, the more it expands. Now, on to the important part, the flavor. This one tastes quite good. It's pretty rich, and leathery. It's smoky, and has a really flavorful, earthy tobacco base. These are the main components of the flavor profile. Bergamot, like in the aroma, is an afterthought. Mild, and barely there. I'm not saying that as a bad thing because this stuff tastes great as it is. In the nicotine strength, it feels about regular. The flavor lasts quite a while, up to about 50-60 minutes, on average!
Rating and Final Thoughts
This one was pretty good. I was quite impressed with it. I think this is one for people who like Grov, or Oden's No3 for example. It has a rich taste. I rated this one at 3.75/5. I can say I'd definitely get more of this in the future. While bergamot isn't a main player in the flavor profile, I like the tobacco/leather/smoke aroma and taste I pick up with this one!
