Today, we're going to be talking about something kind of special: a new, limited edition release from Gotlandssnus! This is unique, because it starts a new "small batch" type line at Gotlandssnus called
Factory Batch. What's special about this, is that this is the first time a small batch type line of nicotine pouches has started. The Gotlandssnus
site says, "
Swave Factory Batch will be published five times in 2021 and will only be sold at Swedish Match and Gotlandssnus". From the sound of this, it doesn't sound like this line will be open to people outside of Sweden, sadly. The flavor description for this one says, "
Factory Batch # 1 Red Surfer offers a fresh summer flavor, inspired by the waves of the sea with flavors of citrus and vanilla, topped with sour red berries." Each can weighs 16 grams and has 20 portions at 0.8g each. Their website says the nicotine is 10.6mg/portion, so that would be about 13.25mg/g in total strength.
The flavor description makes this one sound kind of strange, but it actually works out pretty well, surprisingly. The aroma of this one is a tart, sour red berry smell. There's a tart hint of citrus, along with a very faint hint of vanilla in the background. The pouches are brown-ish in color, with a slim fit in the lip and a soft portion material. In the flavor, the tart berry taste is what I pick up the most; it is reminiscent of a raspberry/cranberry mix. I also pick up a faint citrus in the background, almost like an orange/grapefruit blend. I also notice the vanilla in the back, but it's quite faint. The nicotine level feels to be around the strong mark, and the flavor lasts about 40-45 minutes on average.
Rating and Final Thoughts
This one ended up at 3.42 out of 5. The flavor was incredibly unique, which gives me a lot of hope for the future of this Factory Batch line. It was surprising, to say the least. However, the red berry/citrus/vanilla blend actually worked out pretty well. If you like nicotine pouches, you should give this one a go. It's got an interesting flavor, and is a nice one with the warmer weather coming up!
